Sion's ULT smashes through turrets on low health

What if Riot made it so that Sion's ult smashes through a turret on low health and continue running rather than stopping?

What about an already destroyed tower?

Let Sion jump over them in his R ^-^

Valar Morghulís4 votes

That too would be awesome :D

Then we don't have to worry about puny things like towers when ulting down lanes [slayer-jinx-wink]

I once had a loading game tooltip that read 'Did you know: Sion can leap over walls with the final leap of his ultimate'

For anyone asking for tower executes I should mention: Sion's ult already does damage to structures when he slams into them.

ShadowParker5 votes

Does it actually?

statelesskiller6 votes

yeah. full ad sion can do significant damage to a turret. useful for forcing a siege to success

Does the damage scale with distance or can you point blank it for some burst?

statelesskiller2 votes

while you can point blank it for burst. the further out you are (to a point) and the more time you spend in the ult the more damage it does. both in terms of base damage and scaling which is why you can deal alot of damage to turrets and force a siege

Full tank Sion ca do about 600 damage to a tower late game if minions are near it.

Yup, and it neeeeever happens that you bound off them in a 45 degree angle completely missing the mark when all you wanted to do was fastpush the tower.

im actually bad1 votes

To test this hypothesis out, I went into practice tool mode.

I build full ad sion and got 3 infernal drake + elder, my total AD being 718.

I ultied at max range and hit mid turret. It did 395 damage.

So I don't think this tower execute is really good unless you are literally 718 AD or the tower is under 100HP.

HarIe1 votes

Were there any minions in range of the tower at the time you struck? If there was not then your damage would've been subject to the tower's backdoor armor which would've reduced your damage by 66%.

Paquay5 votes

Can't happen. Sion level 6 would be able to ult through all towers like a high school football team running through spirit banner.

Silly paper towers.

Valar Morghulís2 votes

As hilarious as that sounds I did say "turrets on low health" ...at level 6 the turrets are barely even touched at that point in the game

Paquay1 votes

Sorry, it was supposed to be a bad joke at how weak towers are and how they fall over easily. Hence the sill paper tower comment.

cough cough first turret at 3:47 is the current record

HarIe1 votes

With the proposed change you could theoretically do that. Although charging through one tower in order to kill the healthy one behind it is a tad impractical due to the obscene amount of AD required to perform such a feat.

Specifically to 100% to 0% an inner/inhib/nexus turret with Sion ult from you'd need about 3,600/3,240/2,700 bonus AD (depending on ult rank). Assuming you also have enough lethality/armor penetration to bypass all of the tower's armor, you have minions nearby, and you're running at full speed when you hit the tower.

Sadly the only scenario in which you could gather the obscene amount of required AD would be in the Black Market Brawlers mode with the Flesheater item (which allowed you to stack AD with its active). But at least the imagery of full AD Sion bursting through a tower (full health or not) to vaporize someone standing behind it is amusing enough.

Let him execute towers like Ziggs. Would be pretty awesome.

BootyConnoisseur1 votes

wouldnt that take away the unique factor that ziggs has then?

Steel Blossom4 votes

Because Ziggs isn't unique enough with a skillshot that bounces, and a minefield that's basically free damage and slow against any melee champion. Or a global ult with actual, considerable amount of damage. Nope nope nope.

IcyPepper10 votes

and a minefield that's basically free damage and slow against any melee champion

Dude.

That's his spell.

That's like calling literally any damaging crowd control spell from a mage "free."

That's not fucking "basically free."

Like, holy shit. What the fuck isn't free then? Is Sona's passive "free?" Does Thresh have "free" ranged? Does Zed have "free" lore on the website? Does Kog'Maw have a "free" ult? Like, holy shit, stop.

Steel Blossom1 votes

...name one other option aside from tanking it when you dive Ziggs, then? When he just plops it and his ult on himself?

IcyPepper6 votes

Have you tried... not diving Ziggs when he casts that spell?

You ever think that you should be punished for taking the action a specific spell is supposed to punish?

Soon you'll be telling me it's bullshit that you have no options to avoid Poppy's stun when you walk by a wall, or you have no options against Bard's Q when you walk right next to your ally.

Steel Blossom1 votes

....So like someone has a consistent and high-range poke also has a "fuck off" button when you want to dive him? Shouldn't he be punished for letting people with shorter range jump onto him, instead of getting to deal unavoidable damage?

Skins Project9 votes

#Unavoidable. You heard the kid, hell, let's walk in singed trails 2nite, it's unavoidable. In fact let's just stand in that freaking pantheon ult, it's not like I can walk out or engage later.

Steel Blossom1 votes

How often do you think a Ziggs is going to let you jump on him? Also, not like Singed has any form of poke or siege, although the mere fact that you always have to be chasing him to fight him is still pretty damn unhealthy imo.

IcyPepper3 votes

although the mere fact that you always have to be chasing him to fight him

My god, you don't understand how champions work.

Steel Blossom1 votes

I don't understand how champions work...? Then name one Singed who actually stood and fought you...

I don't understand how champions work...? Then name one Singed who actually stood and fought you...

you just proved his point. You have no idea how (some) champions work. Do you even know how Singed works? THE WHOLE POINT OF A FKING SINGED IS THAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED DIE WHILE CHASING HIM IN HIS POISON TRAIL. HE'S NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE FIGHTING YOU! IF HE FIGHTS YOU HE'S A FKING BAD SINGED WHO SHOULD JUST GO FK HIMSELF AND THROW THE GAME.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Buddy it's okay, he's just some mindless troll, or an idiot... or both. Probably both.

Steel Blossom1 votes

That's exactly why I said the fact that you always have to be chasing him to fight him feels unhealthy. When a champion's entire kit is based around having you chase him, it's a cancer for both sides. It's a chore for you to get anything because your opponent can always just choose to not chase you, and a chore for your enemies because you never actually fight.

Supreme Senpai692 votes

It's a chore for you to get anything

This is why people play Singed. He offers nothing else. You play Singed by trying to attract people to you for free kills, then you run around and make them try to chase you. Meanwhile your team takes towers or objectives.

Steel Blossom1 votes

Which is unhealthy in my opinion. You should only be dealing damage when you're actually fighting. But, again, just personal opinion.

It Hertz When IP1 votes

Actually, I've stood my ground and fought as Singed before, it just only works against people stupid enough to 1v1 me when they're melee, at low health/behind on gold, and my ult is up.

Granted it's kind of rare for that to happen, even down at my ELO, but it does happen, and I have won duels like that.

It Hertz When IP3 votes

Wait, you mean that circle ISN'T there so I know where to stand to catch him before he hits ground?

Mig892 votes

As much as I dont like sion, this would be awesome. Even if it was something small like 10% or less execute

Glory ln Death2 votes

That would be a nerf...

He already deals his ult's damage to towers if they're in the impact zone, so 10% would be less than anything but a point-blank rank 1 ult with no AD.

The post is only suggesting he be able to keep going after hitting the tower (which would make much more sense and be a much better change if it were for champions, not turrets).

Mig892 votes

I meant if the tower has less than 10% he would just run through it.

PB4UAME1 votes

Right, but he can already do more than 10% of a towers hp with his ult damage, so restricting it to 10% would actually be a damage nerf to structures.

Mig891 votes

I get what your saying but if it already does more than that I don't think it'd be fair to still do that and go through it. I was thinking it could still do more damage but under a certain threshold it would pass through. I don't think sion should do a lot of damage and go through it

Spoofghoul2 votes

Hell yea

as a Sion main i approve of this idea

DeathBot6662 votes

That would be awesome. Maybe get an animation of the tower shattering rather than collapsing like it does normally.

The tower would have to be pretty weak though, maybe if the ult does more damage then the tower has health, he keeps going, otherwise it stops him (Obviously not damaging the tower).

Quepha2 votes

That doesn't really make sense as even destroyed turrets block Sion's ult.

Riot has talked about 'stampede' effects related to his ult before (although in reference to low health champions) and mentioned that it sounded cool but they didn't really like how it made Sion players feel like they were supposed to wait until they could stampede at least one target to get proper use out of it so they ended up missing a lot of opportunities to ult that would have been really good for their team.

ÈvilMorty1 votes

I just want sions ult to not have that slow start up so i can hit it close up, and be easier to turn. Kleds ult goes around everything so why cant sion ult be able to turn a little easier

Dynamiku Entry4 votes

Because you can control Sions ult, you can't control Kled's at all
