How to Get out of Bronze and Feel Like an Idiot (In a good way)

So last week I decided to play seriously, avoid confrontations, stop trolling, and play the champions/roles I'm best at exclusively. I avoided chasing, warded, let others carry when I was behind pinged MIA's and visable JG's. I backed when my health was low, avoided going for that one extra CS and stopped using flash as a way to dive for a kill, as well as focusing objectives over pointless JG fights.

Holy crap it actually worked. Go figure. (Damn I felt stupid.)

I was Silver (in promos for gold at one point) last season, and found myself in a rut this season. I'm not a particularly good player, and I'm a bit older and am starting to slow down a bit. I was blaming a combination of that and the mistakes of others for everything. Took me this wrong to realize I was stuck in bronze this season because I was quite literally "acting bronze" and deserved to be where I was.

After kicking myself a few times, and lots of coffee/cigarettes I got back to playing the way I should have been all along. Maintained a 66% win rate, went from Bronze 4 to Silver 5 in 6 days. I'm terrible mechanically. I've seen many many bronze players that can out play me mechanically... then just do stupid things and throw easy wins. Slow and steady seems to be the best bet for me.

So in conclusion, no Bronze isn't ELO hell from which there is no escape. Just calm down, and play the game to win, not pad your K/D numbers. If you are Bronze it's because you are either Smurfing, Trolling, or deserve to be there because of your own actions.

(Side note Irel/Aniv/Fizz seems really strong at that ELO and I recommend people try'em out.)

Have fun and climb peeps, I'm out.

Good job! You found the secret to climbing out instead of staying in the delusional state of 99.9% of bronze players. Anything snowbally can easily get you out as getting kills and shitting on your opponent if you are better, is really easy.

except silver is no different than bronze now. all of the bronzes who couldnt climb out, asked their friends to dynamic boost them, and they are now ruining our silver games.

Yeah, this about sums up how I feel about it. That, and keep playing. Statistically, there WILL be people who play well and stay in losing streaks for a time. With a sample size this big, it WILL happen to people. But if you keep playing well, you WILL climb out eventually.

I think that's important to remember. It isn't ALWAYS your fault when you lose. It isn't. And I know a lot of people hate to even point that out, because it's not helpful to making you climb, at first glance. But, it's good to keep your chin up when you're caught in a losing streak that feels unfair. Yes, you still examine your play, and think about what you could have done better. But when the 9/0 mid laner that was keeping you in the game afks, you will lose. It's gonna happen. And when it does, you can't get discouraged.

And when it happens 10 games in a row, because you got THAT unlucky... well, just keep trudging along. If you really are playing well, you'll break out of the slump eventually. There's 10 people in a game, and you're only 1 of them, at the end of the day. Gotta remember that.

Chasing in an instinctual thing that can be very very hard to overcome. Yet it and warding can be one of the simplest ways to win a game. Greed is another factor, just one more cs, just one more hit here or there for that kill. Generally, those who die less win in the end.
