Weird this is the second time I've been ejected from champion select due to "you have failed to select..." when there was still several seconds on the timer. Just starting my promo series and get kicked with 7 seconds left due to failing to select.
Also don't you supposed to lose 10LP for "dodging" on a series? I only lost 3, which I'm happy about, but still seems to be suspect client behavior.
When you lag out during champ select, the timer on your end doesn't see when someone locks in. That means that if they lock in before the timer goes out, the real timer and the timer you see will be out of sync and yours will be longer because it continues down to zero before moving on (it just assumes they didn't lock in because it didn't get that data).
What we have here, is a failure to communicate [the lock-in data]. If this happens during bans, sometimes it'll look like one team has extra bans and one team has not enough (it checks the bans and sees it happened, but it's the other teams turn so the ban is attributed to them).
It's lame, but it's just lag. They could make the server and your PC check the data at regular intervals to keep it in sync, but until then, this will happen.
