AS on Trinity Force?

Let's talk about this beautiful item and its upgrade: Sheen

item 3057 Sheen gives mana, CDR and gives your next basic attack after using an ability deal extra damage that can be pretty sifnificant. It has a low internal cooldown and is therefore good for users that have either spamable low cooldown abilities or a play pattern that leaves room for single basic attacks within a combo of different abilities.

It can be upgraded into three full items:

  • an AP oriented version
  • a tank oriented version and
  • an AD oriented version

item 3100 Lich Bane gives their user flat Ap, an extra burst that scales with AP and increased movement speed that helps to maneuver around fights to a) keep the right distance for ranged mages to just put in the empowered basic attack between their combos or b) helps AP melees to stick to their targets.

item 3025 Iceborn Gauntlets give armor and extra mana while also increasing the available CC and is best on tanks. The extra mana helps with rather sspamming high cooldown abilities with high mana costs while also providing additional CC that let's them stick to their target better while also do what they want to do: keep enemies where they want them.

item 3078 Trinity Force is a super expensive item that gives multiple stats to its users: Health, Mana, Attack Damage, Attack Speed, Movement Speed and CDR. It gives many different stats, but nothing except CDR in serious amounts. It increases the users movement speed in combat and gives them stickyness to their targets and for ranged champions also a better ability to kite. The bonus damage scales with base AD and is therefore good for champions with high base damage values. Trinity Force is traditionally an item for certain bruisers

Trinitiy's most common users I can think of at the moment are Camille Corki Ezreal Fiora Gangplank Jax Irelia Vi Yorick

More than the other two items, trinity's users have noticable low cooldown abilities and attack resets. At this point I wonder how much these champions need the bonus attack speed. Trinity Force is a very expensive item with many different stats that not everyone might use best. In the process of forging Trinity force you get +10 AD, +50 Health, +5% Attack Speed and (for whatever reason) 5% Movement Speed for only 333 gold.

Stinger contributes 1100 gold to the recipe while giving 35% (40% after finishing) Attack Speed that maybe isn't optimally used. Removing that item would give room to buff the other stats and/or reduce the total price of the item. Even though the bonus movement speed is no stat from the item's parts, I think it is mandatory for bruisers to have that movement speed on top of the combat movement speed.

Now it's your turn: What champion benefits from additional Health or AD more than from the Attack Speed? Who is punished by the missing CDR? Most likely, Corki and Ezreal will miss the attack speed most. Are there other champions that could make more use of the new item? Would you prefer decreased costs to hit that power spike earlier or an increase in stats instead?

uh, plenty of champions love the attack speed, camille gets an extra auto between her q's, jax gets more use of his innate carry power by more autos, irelia gets more healing, vi gets faster w pops, and yorick gets more tower pushing power because he can attack more often.
