Should i?
Next season, should i actually try to rank up? Been mostly doing normals and getting g5 only. But i debate on if i actually want to try ranking up.

I've played 1 complete season now so I'm quite new, but I've never played ranked. I play for fun, and I have lots of fun in normals, arams, and TT's. I just queue up with a friend or something, and when I can't, I play aram. Don't think I'll ranked next season.
Yeah normals are fun, but just kinda seeing other peoples opinions lol
I have around 800 games played this season and only 18 of them were ranked ( including 10 placement games). Personally, I'm not a fan of rank.
Yeah i have a total of about 5800ish games in normals so far in total.... probably nearing 8000 total games over everything including previous seasons ranks (which is like, about 1000 over the course of 5 seasons or so). So i just kinda dunno lol,
You do slowly start to see players that play better overall as you climb, so if you're not content with the player pool at G5 and think you are good enough (or can improve) then I encourage you to try! Forewarning, though, common player mistakes don't just suddenly disappear (or ever entirely) as you reach new ranks.
Yeah i understand that lol, ive been around for a while, just never really actually tried to climb. Figured id just see what everyone thinks lol
Unless you're a masochist, playing Ranked games is probably the worst thing you can do.
I mean, most ranked games arnt too different than normals though lol

The core gameplay itself is not that different, yes, but playing Ranked games puts you in a ponzi scheme.
You get a win streak and earn lots of LP...
...until you get a forced lose streak and lose all the LP you just spent hours collecting.
It becomes a downward spiral of anger and despair with seemingly no escape, as you tirelessly built up your rank only to lose it all again over the next 2 games.
And this goes on and on and on...
Just listen to some music while playing. Helps avoid the tilt like you are describing lol

Listening to music won't bring your LP back.
Prevents you from tilting over a loss just because the enemy played better that game. Minimizes the amount of games you lose due to less tilting, thus helping not lose LP.

That sounds like a different from person to person case.
Actually its pretty proven if you tilt less you will have longer win streaks and shorter loss streaks.
Theres no point in getting upset because you play worse when you do. You make more mistakes. You then flame your team and then it goes down hill.
Some people just are not mechanically skilled to consistantly climb, but tilting isnt going to help anything.

I'm not talking about the having less tilt part.
I'm talking about the music somehow making you not tilt at all part.
True, but it is a pretty common thing that people have found to work. Should try it sometime.

Don't really know why you are the one giving me advice when it was you that asked a question.
Because my question isnt "what should i do to climb" it was not "how should i climb" its a "should i climb?" Eventually i will put in some effort to do some games to climb, i have enough game knowledge and enough games under my belt period that if i want to, i can.
This post mostly was a fun thing to see what people would say.
You however seem like you could benefit from a suggestion, that could possibly be passed along to others as well due to your commentary. You sound like you want to climb, but keep getting tilted by loss streaks etc. So i put in my advice for you to try if you wanted. No harm in suggesting right?

I mean, yeah, no harm in suggesting.
However, I do not have any intention of trying to climb.
At least not very high.
If you, however, already know that you're planning to climb, or at least try to climb, already, then your question should be answered already.
Works in getting less upset in normals as well. I think many people will need as much help as they can get here with matchmaking thrown into complete chaos due to ranked being down.
But yeah, i already know what my answer is, its just interesting to see what everyones answer would be however lol
want to duo?
