When to farm

Hello,

Recently started my placements. The first couple games were pretty good--I had the same issue as I will describe, but I was able to overcome; however, in the last few games, I notice that 1 or 2 lanes will be down a tower and down like 5 kills by the time 10 minutes comes around. What I did the first couple games was roam to those lanes to help them and it worked. But in these, my enemy laner just farmed a ton and ended up stronger and I couldn't carry as hard. When your team is losing 1 or 2 lanes and you are ahead, how do you know when to help them versus when to just farm? There's a part of my that thinks if I had stayed top, I could've become strong enough to tilt those late team fights, but the other part of me thinks the game would've been over before then (either base gone or ff20).

what elo are you? If youre in a lower elo, just play a hyper scaling top laner like tryndamere and brainlessly shove toplane all game. COMPLETELY ignore your team mates, and shove that damn lane to inhib. Then do it for another lane.

If your other lanes are losing hard, theres really nothing YOU can do. What you need to be doing is looking for TP plays earlier on so that you can help your lanes avoid falling behind in the first place. Unfortunately, for the most part, it's up to the jungler to do the majority of babysitting your other lanes.
