Why annie is a weak laner in this patch

Ap champions get less damage to the gold than AD and annie doesn't have enough damage to force a lot of champions out of play or put them into kill range if they don't take really awful trades. I think, until AP itemization gets a bit better, we should give annie 650 auto attack range so that she has enough to auto Q auto rather than just Q auto (if they didn't click back fast enough to get out of the auto which a good player WILL do np np) and this wil also let annie eat less minion damage which usually outrade her 3x and now she can be a character for reals

Annie's weakness is lack of mobility. Her damage is incredibly strong. You should look to trade around her stun: last hit with Q to charge her passive, then you can use Q as a targeted stun and follow with W and an auto before backing out to avoid return damage.

At 6, she definitely has the damage to burst people down with tibbers (who will also do damage over time to them if she doesn't quite finish them).

With higher auto attack range Annie support gets too strong in pro play (and Annie in all levels of play tbh).

As noted at the start, the lack of mobility means you need to be wary of ganks. Annie mid is a good Lane to camp as she wins most matchups 1v1, but is easy to gank if she's extended at all - almost guaranteeing she'll flash or die.

A lot of midlaners actually out damage her right now and Annie doesn't really have the luxury of trading favorably right now unless she can out skill the enemy midlaner. Vs anything with more damage than her, that can survive her burst and lane comfortably, that can out sustain her or out range her she's actually on the back foot and no, Annie's combo, weaving auto attacks and with ignite isn't going to 100-0 burst many champions down right now and often they can "joust" or get their damage out faster.

Even if you took this change I proposed and made it a little more extreme you'd still have champions like ziggs or twisted fate beating annie early (At a good level of play, i'm not going to ask gold league nobody to harass with redcards and micromanage Q without pushing the lane or getting ganked) and good early game mid + jungle combos dumpstering annie and her weaker 2v2 presence and you'd have options like yasuo, zoe and veigar who can not have good victory conditions early but outscale super hard

Dude.

#Play her botlane as the carry. You won't regret it.

Her weakness comes from her bad mobility, but she has massive damage.

However with Cosmic Insight as such, and focusing on farming while your support pokes. Take Aery for DPS.

Yes. DPS. Annie is a burst mage. What do burst mages not do? . . . They don't deal back to back damage as often.

Max CDR and poke with Q, but conserve your mana. You will always out trade an ADC with your E.

Be wary of the enemy support and focus the ADC. As soon as you get Sorc Boots and Luden's, make your way towards Liandry's ( if enemy team is beefy ) or Banshee's ( if enemy team is bursty. ) then start wondering.

Also, very important to take magical footwear.

Skill max: Q -> R -> E -> W
