Tanks are still boring

Overall tanks still feel like a class of champions that you want on your team but no one wants to play. Most tanks are stat balls with CC and % health damage that's main utility is to soak damage, peel and breach the enemy frontline/distract the backline. There's just not much to the class beyond that. It's very uncreative and low-skill oriented and I feel like it doesn't have to be.

Why can't there be high skill tanks? Why can't there be a squishy tank that relies on skill shots and timed abilities to mitigate damage for themselves and their team? I don't think any class of champions should be "the braindead" class. Every class should have it's low-skill and high-skill champions.

Do you have any ideas for high-skill tanks? I'd like to hear them.

My favorite high impact tanks are amumu and malphite. Malphite, and most tanks really, excel in area of effect damage, so they are better in teamfights. That being said I soloed an adc easily as Volibear while losing about 150 hp and my bite just took 40% of his health.

While not a tank exactly, Braum is hands down one of the most satisfying tanks to play.

Braum is one of the better designs, I agree. I'd still like to see some Zoe-level ridiculousness for a tank. Like a long range windwall skillshot ability that you could use to save a teammate a screen away.

Gnar also does have an interesting design for a half tank half annoying prick champion.

So you want a bodyguard and nothing else out of a tank? No wonder you think they're boring; try a juggernaught and watch the enemy underestimate your damage.
