Instead of scuttle giving a bunch of gold and exp, it should grant "green buff"

I have two ideas for what green buff could be:

  1. Significantly lowers the cooldown on warding-totem/sweeper.

  2. Grants an effect similar to Duskblade where you have a kind of permanent ward sense while the buff is active (like smiting raptor camp in season 6).

Share any other ideas for what green buff could be, I'd like to hear them.

It would have to be something a lot weaker than this. Vision control is POWERFUL, and considering there are 2 crabs that are both in contested territory, it would have to be a buff that's one time use so it doesn't make junglers steamroll and ruin vision just because they killed one. After all, not only does the Scuttler give gold and XP, it also gives you a speedbuff/river ward as well as heals you when you kill it. If those properties are to still exist, you can't have a crazy strong buff too.

Yeah I was thinking in place of the exp and large sum of gold. Something more balanced as you say. I think the vision theme goes with the green color so still something vision-oriented. Vision is hard to quantify though so it's hard to say what would be strong/weak.

Vision score exists, you know

It may be specifically hard to quantify, but having vision of more of the map allows you to have awareness of the enemy team, and thus avoid ganks, know when to take objectives, and when to ambush them. This denies them gold, gives you gold, gives you objectives, and allows you to strategize and plot around your enemies. That's immensely powerful in a fog of war game, even if it's not easily quantifiable. Denying enemies those advantages that vision offers is STRONG, because vision is the #1 way to avoid death in this game.

I'm actually in agreement with you that vision is very powerful. I just meant it's hard to quantify, therefore its hard to formulate what a balanced vision buff would be.

Well, it would have to be something like the passive of Duskblade - a one and done deal that has enough time to block and let you clear one ward, maybe 2, and that's it.

Yeah I could see that being balanced.

Just spitballing here but what if it reduced the cooldown of totem/sweeper by something like 50% and increased the duration of any wards/sweeps by 15%? This would mean at level 1, over the course of the 2 minute buff, you would regenerate 1 full warding totem charge (instead of half a charge), and a ward placed during the buff would last 104 seconds (instead of 90.) If you have sweeper instead, you will regenerate 2.6 sweeps (instead of 1.3), with each sweep lasting 11.5 seconds (instead of 10). If you had farsight alteration, you would regenerate 1.2 charges (instead of 0.6), and it would reveal an area for 5.75 seconds (instead of 5).

Maybe those numbers are a bit high but that seems like another angle a vision buff could take.

how about we just reintroduce smite buffs back into the game? ya know, like how when smiting gromp you basically got a thornmail for a bit to help with tanky junglers clear and the such?

It should allow you to play your knife like a tin whistle and summon a dragon

Thanks, my brother.

Any time something is both new and green I can't help but make this connection.

Its a dagger, played like a flute, sounds like a trumpet, that is blown through a mask.

At 8, I didn't much care. It summoned a dragon, man. I wasn't thinking "they way they get that robo-dragon doesn't add up"

Though it's a little funny that it so obviously doesn't make any fucking sense.

killing skuttle should give "river king"

which makes you move faster in the river and then they should remove the runes that do that from the rune tree and replace them with something mage-y

Grants 15% increased movement speed when moving towards an enemy champ. Lasts 2 seconds and is consumed when the haste is over

Edit. Or maybe 1 second, or it becomes too powerful

I don't know man, ganks are already strong as is, and if you play immobile champs like me, then that would just be oppressive. Imagine the boost graves, eve, and Kayne alone would receive, and they are already plenty strong.

ZackTheWaffleMan2 votes

maybe when moving towards an allied champ, or 2+ enemy champions? could help counterganking

ApollyonBainer2 votes

Move speed increase in the jg/river. Allows counter jg and stuff. Instead of just the small circle in front of baron/drag

Hong Kong Annie2 votes

Green buff was already a thing in the old 3s map. Getting would give the player a small movement speed increase and if I remember correctly health regen.

*edit nvm I was wrong. Green buff gave attack speed and CDR, it was the white buff that gave the movement speed.

jocomotion2 votes

Slowly rising Bonus armor/mr while in combat with a champion/large/epic monster, maxing out after say 5 seconds and resetting after not being in combat for 3 seconds.

Kosm1K2 votes

Does anyone remember green buff? There used to be a green buff back in old twisted treeline. It would give attack speed and crit chance. I think it should give white buff, which if i remember right, gave movement speed

Leto GT1 votes

Anything but that amount of gold and exp tbh. It's so frustrating when your laner are pushed or don't give a fuck. You can litteraly lose our jungle on that stupid thing. I would be more than happy if it woudl give an actual movement bonus speed to help for ganks or something based on mov speed.

Rıots Bad Client1 votes

What about reduces the Cooldown of your camps respawn rate by like...15 seconds?

Or maybe more. so you can get a blue/red. and your other camps ups more early.

And if you get both the crabs, you'd have a plentiful Jung, but more likily to have more jung fights on your end.

(And its a buff that laners cant abuse)

Bob the Toastr1 votes

I think that is a good idea. Number 1 would be fine, you'd just have to tune the CDR based on game data. Number 2 would be alright as long as it is consumed the first time you see a ward (like duskblade is). If it was permanent (for whatever duration it lasted), that would be really strong.
