Welp, here goes nothing.
Now, I think that most people here are going to agree with me when I say league is in a...to put it nicely, bad spot. But I'd like to take a moment to take a step back and look at it from the perspective of Riot/a Riot employee, since a lot of people forget how hard their jobs really are. When they make a patch, they aren't just changing things for America, or China, it effects every single player playing league, millions of mains, meta slaves, Ardent addicted support mains, and more. Playstyles in soloQ change from region to region, there isn't in the slightest chance they can make everyone playing league happy with a patch. Hell even if you patch league just in one city, there is going to be people who are unhappy with the changes. Now enough about that, lets look at how hard actually changing a single thing about a champ/item would be. there are what, over 120 champs currently in the game right now? So lets say you wanna change a smaller champ that doesn't see much play,
for our example. You want to buff him (lets ignore what you'd have to do to make it live with a buff to a champ and say thats outta the way), you want to buff his Q, giving him bonus armor while its active. Now you have to consider everysingle thing that scales off armor, items, champ abilities, everything that takes your armor in to consideration. There is no way a single human can factor everything, and now that you buff voli, what are you gonna do if (currently it wouldn't but lets suppose it does) make him OP, do you nerf the items their rushing now? what do you do, I mean if you nerf the item his is rushing then champs that use that item and are in a good spot will become weaker, then you gotta buff them too, and the cycle repeats.
There isn't any possibility when buffing, nerfing, and changing so many champs they do from patch to patch that its impossible that none of them are affected in a way they didn't intend. Thats not even counting item changes, reworks, and actually adding champs and items. Just changing one item affects everysingle champ that could and does benefit from it. No one, not even a team can account for everything, and while im not saying that the game is perfect, im saying that from time to time, taking a step back a slipping into someone elses shoes helps to understand the why of why the game is in a bad state. Since, as you can imagine, runes is one of, if not the biggest change they have put into the game. Affecting and changing EVERY. SINGLE. CHAMPION.
anyways thats all I have to say. And as always, thank you for reading, and have a good day.
