New Shen Changes Aren't so bad after all
Just played a game of the new shen today.
New Q: The new base damage feels real good. 15/20/25/30/35/40 on each auto attack may not seem like much, but his Q's on such a short cooldown anyway that it adds up real quick. His dueling power's shot up alot. Last hitting under tower is a bit wierder. Your Q base damage is enough to hit the melee minions, but not enough to kill the ranged ones anymore. Gotta go back to the old auto-towershot-auto for them. Even so, its easy enough to adjust to.
New E: Taunt got a straight up buff. Easier to hit, and costs less energy. Latter is really significant, very hidden power.
New R: Only thing where I have some misgivings on. Cooldown is a bit too high now; puts more pressure on making sure you know when to ult and not waste it. The new scaling feels.... ok. 40% for your ult to reach max. strength is ok during the early game, but at mid and late game it becomes a lot more dangerous, where damage gets high enough to 100-0 squishies instantly.
Overall, I feel like post 7.8 Shen is more rounded out overall. He hits way harder, but at the cost of making sure you get good ults off. Definitely going to be playing him alot more now.
P.S. According to op.gg his win rate's actually gone UP since 7.8 went live. LOL.
