Ranked Match Making designed by a troll. Please get some eyeballs on this post....

I don't get it. This is my 2nd season playing ranked... new to LOL in 2017. I'm not a great player but i'm decent at macro and know how to "win" games. I was placed Bronze 2 at start of season and made it up to Gold 4 pretty quickly (my highest ever). Then I dropped and dropped and dropped and dropped... recently down to S2/S1.

I don't get it. I can win 5-10 games in a row then lose 5-10 in a row. I look a lot at the pre-game line up and sometimes it makes NO sense... like this match that we just conveniently lost after my S2 promos (back into S1....again):

"well you're just not a good player at any elo" is what I expect people to respond but look at my match history... even my LOSING games I am consistently the "ace" per OP.GG which is the best player on the losing team... sometimes ( I should really say most of the time) I'm even better than a majority of the players on the winning team.... My KDA is good, my CS is good, my KP is good, Vision is good and I consistently get at least A+ to S on my main champs....

Hell... even checked my Mobalytics to see if i'm just a turd or actually any good.... in my past 100 ranked games look at my consistency and obj scores on GPI... I am doing the "textbook" things to win games yet I get paired with turds who AFK, Int, Tilt, or troll and want to FF 3 min in... reporting does nothing to change the landscape.

Yet... I am still consistently paired in lower MMRs and even though I play my champs / roles well... It's exhausting and as much as I enjoy LOL it's wearing me out. Any guidance on this? Is it just me or do I throw in the towel? I don't think I can sustain the torture anymore. I don't think it's fair to play well in my own role but to be penalized by other players who quite frankly don't care.

Hoping this brings some attention to devs. I rarely post on forums for any game but I honestly have never been so frustrated by a game before and hoping this draws some attention... otherwise there is always minesweeper...

Also stop using mobalytics for stats / gpi

Thats the worse thing you could ever use.

Going over your op.gg, your matchmaking isn't that bad by rank. Bronzes are rare, and you're going to get unranked players, some of whom will troll and some of whom are hard smurfing.

I would strongly refrain from using op.gg's MVP/Ace tags as evidence of anything. You actually buy control wards, which is a rarity at this level. I routinely pull MVP/Ace, but it's due to being a support main who goes in hard on wards. OP.gg wildly overemphasizes warding in its scoring system.

If you want an idea of how your teams actually stack up/how much you should expect of them, I prefer your.gg. It gauges expected performance based on the rating it gives players, not their rank, and then says whether your matchup was worst/bad/normal/good/best. In my experience, the matchup rating closely mirrors how the game felt. More useful is the fact that in games where we won a "bad" matchup, either someone was smurfing on my team or I had a particularly good game. Likewise, if we lose a "good" matchup, I can usually see a lot of ways that I played poorly rather than being crapped on by a bad team.

FWIW, I recently had this same experience, bouncing between ranks due to nutty streaks. Eventually the teams I got that struggled weren't struggling quite as badly, and I was able to help drag them to wins. I went on a big streak and ranked up. Then I started getting much harder games and the cycle started again, but now it's at silver 2 instead of 3. It can be hard, but if you find the marginal improvements (in my case, choosing my aggressive moments more carefully), it does make a difference.

I would also suggest finding one good champ with a competent backup that you can master. It looks like you're going Amumu/Diana right now, which is fine, but Diana overall struggles in the jungle. You obviously can play her well in mid; save her for that role and have, say, Jax or Rammus as a backup. I'd recommend Jax, if only to have a different approach available out of the jungle rather than two engage tanks.

Might as well be afk with a survivability score that low
