If Ekko gets a no-cost ultimate

Then can the non-sustaining ultimates (sorry anivia, swain) of mages who have been bent over and plowed by constant mana regen nerfs not have costs on their ultimates either?

Let's guess and see why Ekko has a manaless ultimate (that is one of the most ultimate abilities in the game currently).

Rito1 "Oh it feels bad you can't make a sick flashy play on a highly mobile assassin champ with lots of utility when you use up all your mana" Rito2 "No problem, we'll just remove the red tape for Ekko so he never really has to manage his resources and always can be flaShy" Rito1 "Oh what about other champions that could have outplay potential if their mana costs on ultimates didn't exist?" Rito2 "They weren't made in 2015, we are thinking ahead to strategic diversity now, and flashy plays"

That would make them overpowered as these mages already buy chalice or tear. Ekko can't buy chalice or tear so making his ult cost mana would make him have even more mana problems. Leave these champs alone and stop complaining about Ekko's ult. If you want his ult to have cost, you would have the same to do for LeeSin which already suffers with energy problems and Akali ult as well and Kennen and etc.. Ekko also suffers with mana problems as he has to spam his combo to win the lane (E+Q). Adding a mana cost to his ult would make his mana costs unmanageable.

really? why not?

Also no energy user has a cost on their ult, that's one of the features of energy users. Ekko is not an energy user so that is not a fair comparison.

Because why would you get tear on Ekko? and chalice? he would deal no damage. He is not lux or karthus. Ekko has no cost on his ult because if he did, they would have to reduce the mana cost on his other skills. He has big mana problems like I've mentioned.

So why should Ekko be exempt from buying mana regen like practically every other AP?

Because if he did like other AP's he would deal no damage? it's the reason why you don't see Fizz or Diana buying chalice or tear: it simply does not work on them.

They even upgrade into damaging items like item 3003 item 3165 and item 3174 which bring cdr and/or AP into your build for teh dermeges.

He has a costless ultimate because the whole point is he rewinds the cost anyway. Though this makes me wonder why Singed still has a high cost ultimate with mana regen...

Ekko has an overloaded ult that absolutely no other champ associated with 0 cost ults has. It's incredibly baffling to have such a powerful and useful ult cost absolutely nothing. And in exchange for what? positioning? high mana costs? Please.
