Discussion : Should Knight's Vow passive give Assists ?

as the title says , am wondering if its a good idea to allow passive ( taking 12% of the dmg instead of the adc ) to give you an assist on kills on occasions there were times were i couldnt actively attack the enemy / heal or shield my adc , either by arriving a bit late , getting cc'ed or out of mana but at the same time i was in range for to redirect the damage to me and that means that i peeled for him , ofc am not asking to get a lazy assist for that 10 dmg that got redirected to me . instead am asking to set a minimum amount of dmg to be taken to count as an assist here is the example i have in mind and ofc numbers can be changed its just an example

throws a Q on and deals 500 damage on him , while enemy support locks me down and i wasnt able to do anything meanwhile 500*12% = 60 damage redirected to me from that Q , somehow survives the fight with and kills her with a sliver of hp now i believe in scenario like this i shouldve got an assist , at least something it can even be an assist with less than the regular one so instead of 150 i get like 100 or 90.
