I'm wondering if there are any other people on here who actively use Jayce when they go toplane?
And if so are you having problems with any toplaner picks?
So far Darius and Wukong have given me the most hassle. Darius especially is just vicious once he hits six and I'm not sure how to counter him :\
BadmoonBC1 votesI used to main Jayce Mid and top. Save your e in hammer stance if you somehow get hooked, otherwise, be aggressive vs Darius. If he does get in range of you and he starts casting his q, switch to hammer and q him. You won't be hit by his q and you'll get excellent damage from your q on him. Once you do this obviously have w on for the extra couple of damage and knock him back with e. Switch back to gun stance n repeat until jungle gank or until he is at lethal ramge

I managed to actually beat a Darius toplane~ Mostly thanks to the tip about Q'ing when Darius does his twirl attack. I didn't realize I could avoid the damage on it by doing that. So I basically won every trade. He'd move in, try to twirl me and I'd jump up and knock him away like some puny noxian noxus noxite. moo hahaha.
Now I just need to get better against Wukong. I have yet to beat one toplane. :o

Awesome! Glad I could help with the trick. Wukong is a super strong laner, and one of the best and most underrated in the game, the only thing I can say about wu is pack a pink so when he invises you can see him. Bait out his clone, throw pink, win game. Save your e for when he gap closes, he only has one gap closer and if you save ur e for it he can't get near u again for 10sec
GeorgeKnightRT1 votesif you are new i'd suggest you to drop jayce for an easier champion like nasus, udyr or even master yi, but if you really like jayce , and you want to use him against top lane bruisers like olaf and darius , you must learn how to harass with autos, you don't need no q-e tricks, no special skill combos , all you need to learn how to harass with autos and use hammer e when they try to all in you.
