Before new Rune/Mastery system hits!

Solution, just make Runes free until new system hits in 3-6 months. Seems like logical solution, i dont understand why this isnt done already,runes are going to be free anyways and now you have to sacrifice your IP without knowing what kind of compensation is going to be. I would rather not invest my IP in runes when i know they are going away anyways and i still dont know what am i getting as compensation when they are gone. I would rather buy new Champions for that IP.

Just make Runes free until new system hits, they are going to be free anyways so why not do it now so we dont have to invest into something that is going away. Thanks Riot!

Well mostly because they're likely going to compensate us for what runes we already have paid for. You make it free, that means they need to decide on the compensation immediately so they can compensate everyone for what they had before they were free.

Riot probably wants to take the longest time possible to settle on exactly what the compensation will be. Personally I think it should be as easy as a partial IP refund (and something extra for rune pages, since those can be bought with IP or RP), but obviously a lot of players disagree with that. So Riot wants to try to figure out a way to make everyone happy (or at least okay) with the change.
