Dmg is really a big problem
if you go back to what most people call the golden ages of league or the best seasons you notice that dmg was under control. pretty much no one 1shot before late game or being hyper fed, the difference was that people actually didnt kill literally everything on sight, they just had more resists and would win most 1v1es.
the fact that people keep calling armor useless is because the base dmg on everything seems so huge. all the %hp dmg and executes and all that other bullshit made tanks op and riot decided to buff everything else to be on the level of tanks instead of nerffing tanks as you can see by juggernaut/tank meta + the addition of cdr on every item, more gold income and all these new dragons that give pretty big buffs.
the reason i am noticing it now is because i broke my arm and have almost nothing to do so i just watch videos instead of playing the game. the dmg on the videos seems so low, it actually makes me saddened on how much the game has changed. go and watch any season 3 to season 6 youtube video and see the dmg. its so different. lvl 6 zed doesn't just 1shot you. adc's barely hurt early because they are supposed to be item reliant.
the game is just so overtuned with dmg and there is nothing us players can do about it because resists are pretty useless after all the penetration items were added. and even if u go them you will just be handicapping yourself by not building dmg.
this game is going to ruin itself and i don't like it.
And no itemization to counter Armor Pen. or Mag Pen
then and now damage, Her unempowered Es x 3 did like 200 damage now 3 x Es ingite and electrocute wasn't quite enough to kill someone but certainly forced them from the lane.

item as an AP version. The only roles that should have penetration items should be carry roles, not bruisers, not juggernauts, not assassins, not supports, not tanks, not anyone but carrys; AP carrys ie. Mages and AD carrys ie. ADCs.
