Instead of Dynamic Queue, How About Club Queue?

Look, as a diamond ranked player (currently plat 1) I think dynamic queue has just had a lot of issues, queue times and frustrating issues. It hasn't been HORRIBLE (unless your d1/master/challenger then RIP) but it has been considerably less good than solo queue. I initially supported dynamic queue, as I have a ton of friends who play this game and I love playing with friends, I nearly always have a duo or trio these days. But I just don't like dynamic queue as much as I loved good ole cancerous solo queue.

READ THIS PART IF YOU ARE LAZY So here is my solution to no ranked 5's and dynamic queues troubles:

  1. Bring back Solo Duo Queue
  2. Remove the dynamic queue ladder
  3. Replace this ladder with a club ladder, this ladder will use the dynamic queue match maker, just how it is now.
  4. Now, when every player IN YOUR CLUB wins or loses a game, you will gain or lose points (this will not have an MMR rating, simply a points/promo system)
  5. Solo and Duo queuers get extra points for your club (harder to carry with less people and incentivises individuals to play for match making's sake)
  6. Higher elo players will earn more points per win than lower elo player (to make it more competitive and stop people from doing things like abusing smurfs, plus it takes more skill to win in diamond than in silver or bronze, objectively)
  7. Create incentives to play (higher teams get skins at end of season, maybe increased chest/keys, work it into tournaments where high level teams can compete in non-lcs riot sponsored tournaments which would be SO cool)

This, in my opinion will give us back team and group ranked, without the hated issues of ranked 5's and the months of inactivity that virtually every team would have after their players stopped giving a f*ck. Plus, bronzes and diamond players could interact together on a ranked ladder (in a healthy way, see point 6) without messing up match making. Plus, clubs will actually have a purpose besides being a semi-cool chat room and WE CAN HAVE TEAM RANKED AGAIN WOOOO. Also, solo and Dynamic Queue can ACTUALLY EXIST TOGETHER WHICH IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE RIGHT NOW AND EVERYONE INCLUDING RIOT KNOWS THIS.

Tl;Dr Bring solo queue back, link dynamic to your club and make a group system based on club w/l. SEE READ IF LAZY ABOVE, IT IS BULLETED INFO IF YOU ARE CURIOUS

Edit- Hey 40 upvotes! I like the support. I would like to see a rioter comment now! Purely of opinion though, doesn't have to be plans or realities! Just thoughts on what this idea could look like! For everyone else, any thoughts or concerns? And most of all, do you think this would be fun, or like ranked fives where no one really cared about it, but it was entertaining?

I like this, they can incentivize this with skins/chests/key frags and you can have club rivalries, club rankings. It sounds like a bunch of fun!

HEY WIAT IDEA

when you rank up as a group, instead of gaining/losing ELO you gain/lose club points.

idk... maybe...

I like this option. This is the way Riot wants to go to reach their goals.

They want to incentivize community/clubs, not force it. Where do they think these groups of friends come from? Sure, there are plenty of people who play with r/l friends and such, but mostly you get into League, and then meet people while you enjoy your solo queue experience. Individuals and small groups meet through the game and join up. If there is no enjoyable solo experience to begin with, individual players won't be as immersed in the game and interested in forming teams/clubs.

This is comparable over Dynamic queue, that's for sure.

I'll be blunt, this is a stupid idea.

  • You need 5 people to form a club in the first place. Groups of friends 2-4, the audience Dynamic Queue is targeting, can't get involved.
  • You can join multiple clubs, so would you have multiple clubs gain/loose points for the same players game?
  • What happens to the points of a person if they leave the group? If they stay then there's no reason for players to seek out new groups, and if they're lost the group is hit exponentially harder by someone leaving.
  • If you prioritize solo/duo queue, you are removing the point of having a group in the first place (why play together if you get more points playing 5 seperate games?)
  • If you prioritize high elo games getting more points, then groups aren't going to want to accept low elo players
