@Meddler Your statement regarding Olaf and your personal opinion of new items on him

Hi Meddler I just don't understand your statement of the new items being too strong on him. I dont see the Items doing a whole lot more then some of the other broken champions you have out right now (Darius, Fiora, Garen). While you also nerfed righteous glory a great item on olaf because of it being a staple on supports. The items do give him some things that he needs to be successful.

Olaf is not going to 1v5 the enemy team given both teams are equal, he will not DUNK the competition and penta like darius. Olaf takes skill as he can be blown up as he has no grab or gap closer and relies around zoning, peeling, and all ining which takes alot to master. The new items mainly provide health and with Olaf losing resistances when he ults instead of buying a tankier item he just gets more health leaving him more vulnerable earlier. Olaf currently is sitting at a low win rate of 47.37 according too lolking. I don't think that the items you think may be too good on him are making him any stronger then other juggernauts or champions with similar characteristics. I just dont want your personal opinions to sway you on nerfing him. I dont want to see his win rate drop any farther when i think there are many other champion issues in the game. And with the new marksman changes coming out if they are buffs will just help to shut down olaf even more in the mid to late game.

I am an Olaf main who loves that champion and am scared of what you may do for the wrong reasons. http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=vvoe

So...Someone complained about Olaf being too powerful with the new Jugg items? And yet, in the past the term "Being Olaf'd" meant someone was nerfed beyond playability. So when Olaf finally has a presence in the game, they want to stop him? Yet champs like Riven, Nid, and Vayne (who have ALWAYS been super powerful) are just allowed to just do whatever they please? WTF?

Using data from play+ - where Riot balances for - it appears that his win rate is heavily skewed due to his largely inexperienced player base (The little pi chart). His win rate when players become experienced is much higher, although nowhere near high enough for him to be an instant nerf.

Meddler said that he would be keeping an eye on Olaf, not that Olaf would definitely be getting a nerf.

Particularly this close to the preseason, Olaf probably won't be nerfed for raw power. I doubt he will be nerfed for anything after the laning phase either - loads of champions have dashes now, and there is normally one major burst threat on a team to take him out when he uses his ultimate. His laning is a little oppressive against some champions, so maybe that will be touched up, but it is unlikely for a few patches, if at all this season.

The marksman changes are difficult to work out. Correct me if I am wrong, but Olaf exists to dive the back line and make their life hard and short, right? If the marksman changes give them more tolls to deal with threats, Olaf will not be able to carry out his role as well, and so will not get nerfed. If the update just makes them more powerful, perhaps expect a nerf, as Olaf's role will be far more important.

Olaf's intended weakness is that he has no gap closer and his dps isn't very high. However, between BC, Dead Mans, Glory, and his ult speed boost; he get's such insane MS that his lack of a gap closer is often made irrelevant. Titanic Hydra also gives him extra DPS and burst while still being extremely durable. Olaf may not be a juggernaught like the others but he massively benefits from the items Riot made for them; perhaps a little too much. Particularly Dead Mans. The counter to Dead Mans is supposed to be hard CC, but that obviously doesn't work when he ults and can't be CCed.

They are good on him but do not make him stronger. Whether or not you go BC or Titanic first, you still have to buy frozen heart second.

The only one that has a real spike in effectiveness on him is gauge.

Perfect kite world, must exist always! Counterplay exists only between mid role classes and bot role classes, between them and not against them, every other class that cant go mid or bot is doomed to have absolute counters but riot dont care about that.

Vayne can 1v1 nearly every fighter or juggernaut with no counterplay (they dont care), kalista is uncatchable by immobile melees they dont care, heimer is nearly undivable by meele when he has hourglass they dont care, ahri vs meele (exception assassins) they dont care .

Thats why i dont find problematic that olaf dont has counterplay vs ccs because olaf has many absolute counters, also olaf needs more than 5 successful uses of his q to be just useful(counterplay), he needs to land many skill shots to be successful, there is no 'good design ' at moba games, olaf's design is k, there is so mach counterplay, from 'new' support itemization, from many champions with terrain ccs (jarvan anivia), soraka counters him to if u go for adc , support like thresh with laterns or bard with his ulty or magica journey, braum blocks his axes olaf is not in a 'world' where the only peel options are the ccs, so his design is healthy now (my opinion)

sry for my english
