So... Galio...

Any chance that everyone's favorite smug-looking gargoyle might be getting some love? He currently sits at a 1% pick rate, just above Yorick and Urgot. Sion has a quote directed at him, but you never get to hear it because Galio is seen maybe once every few months. I'm not saying he needs a full on rework... Oh wait, that's exactly what I'm saying!

His abilities are far too predictable. His Q may hit like a truck, but good luck landing it!

It doesn't really make sense for his W to heal him instead of whoever he puts it on, does it?

His E is flat out pointless. I get that it has some nice utility here and there, but the speed boost and damage are negligible.

His ultimate, however, is amazing. I wouldn't make any changes there. (Unless post-rework it needs tuning to balance him out)

His passive is also wonderful for the utility it provides in making him a tank.

I truly do love him as a champion, I just can't seem to be able to play him. Whenever I try I get called a troll and sometimes reported...

Edit: There are 3 good reasons for this rework happening eventually: His incredibly sexy voice, his legendary skin, and his outdated lore now that Poppy has ditched him ;-;

Edit 2, for those still here: Alright, so perhaps a full rework isn't in order, but I think we can all agree a visual update would be nice.

For the love of gargoyles, please don't rework Galio. Tweaks should be made, but selfishly, I want him to remain obscure, so everyone and their brother doesn't play start playing him as soon as it happens. He's one of my favorite champions. Also, a low pick rate doesn't imply unbalance. He's really not that bad.

He should definitely be a top candidate for a rework after they finish up Taric and whoever they have plans for after the gem knight. His kit is just so outdated and it feels sluggish to use. On top of that he looks more like a blob than Zac does at times. It says something that despite having the most dangerous and game changing ult you could ask for, he sees nearly no play. Probably because his ult is on an unofficial five minute CD since it requires flash to use a lot of the time.

Isn't a Galio where you get hanged?

I believe he should keep his ult and his q. His shield should be reworked and so should his e.

i don't agree on that he needs a full rework. He needs some tweaks and imo a rework on his passive that revolves around AAs, so he actually has a reason to get into melee range and so he has some more reliable damage. His ult needs the most tweaks, it's way to easily counter currently but is lose to an insta win if it lands...

I like him how he is now for the most part; I really enjoy playing him. Lower mana costs would be clutch definitely though.Galio beast mode

Overall I agree that Galio could need a rework. I think his ult should stay though as it is really one of the coolest abilities in the whole game in my opinion(it could be tweaked a bit though).

Also I'd say that he would make a lot of sense as a support. I mean his whole lore is basically how he was ashamed that he didn't manage to protect his carry eer i mean his creator.

They should just rework his E into a dash. I mean he's a gargoyle; he's supposed to be able to fly.

Galio is actually really good! Like, almost too good in my opinion! You basically own the lane if you play him correctly and his ultimate is beyond god-like, being an AoE taunt that can deal upwards of 750 damage in an area. He can be interrupted sure, but that requires the enemy to have a stun that exceeds his R range or is Udyr. Long range stuns and knock ups are actually surprisingly hard to come by AND are usually used to engage a fight. Good Galios will wait a tiny while before using their ultimate due to the fear of interruption. To be honest, Galio could be used to great effect right now, especially with recent MR buffs.

However, he is just incredibly boring. His Q is incredibly basic. His W is incredibly boring. His E is boring, unique yet boring. His passive isn't interactive hardly. His R is the only thing going for him, but it's not quite enough to sell the character. The rest of his kit is just incredibly boring.

I agree on most of your parts.

But I disagree on his Q and am up in the air about his W.

His Q isn't that hard to hit. If you hit it half the time, it'll do significant poke damage. I find that I hit it at least 75% of the time in laning phase when I'm really trying to harass my opponent down. And the slow on it is pretty significant max rank.

I wouldn't much mind if his W healed another target while it was on that target, but... it IS already 90 mr/armor. on an adc, that's about 40% reduction of all non true-damage attacks if they haven't built armor or mr. And putting it on your ally and immediately healing to full health is a very viable and helpful way to stay topped off.

Even Poppy friendzoned him after the rework.

We can't hang out any more. I'm cool now. -Sion

Make his Q faster but do slightly less damage, make his W heal whoever it shields and make his E a dash with some additional benefit. Problems solved.

Some possible benefits for his E:

  1. Max range increased when dashing in the direction of an ally marked with W.
  2. Knocks up all targets he passes through if we're hit by his Q in the past 2 seconds.

There is nothing wrong with galio as is. He is mostly a situational pick, the ap version of rammus. He fills his role well and is a nightmare to ap just like rammus to ad. The meta is ad heavy at the moment so rammus sees more play. If all ap teams start becoming common you would see a lot of galio, if you didn't it would only be caused by playerbase ignorance.
