Does Ability Power Affect Healing Spells?

Let's say i'm playing as Sona and i cast a Heal Spell (W), and i have some Masteries that have increased my AP. Will this give a boost to the Heal Spell? Is the Healing going to heal more?

If the spell tooltip has the green numbers that change when you build AP items, then yes.

It depends on if that heal has an ap ratio on it. In sona's case, I think it scales with 25% ap

Nearly every ability in the game works different, that's why it's hard to generalize here.

However you can easily find out in which way you can increase your abilities by hovering over the Icon with your mouse. A Green Number after the Heal Value - like in Sonas case - means buildig Ability Power will increase the heal the same way it inceases your damage.

The color Code of your Abilities Numbers shows you which kind of Stats will increase those Abilities: Orange = AD, Green = AP, Red = Health, Yellow = Armor, Purple = Magic Resist.

(Mhm... other games do have tutorials for this... right Rito? xD)

The champion's page on the info website here also shows what abilities scale off of, and how much they scale off of it.

That site doesn't say exactly the scaling for all of them. For example, Caitlyn Yordle Snap Trap shows (+0).

It used to do damage, but the damage was removed in the marksman update. Just a little thing that got overlooked most likely.

No no no, it is increased damage form Headshot (+ based on AD) not AP-based damage from old cait traps

Yes, although some healing doesn't scale with AP. With Sona, it does.

Check the wiki on a champ by champ basis because different champions will get more or less from their AP on their healing spell. Sona's heal has a 25% AP ratio so if your runes have 12AP then your heal will grant an additional 4 HP above its base of 35 at rank 1.

nami's is 65+30%AP at rank 1 so she will get more benefit (on her heal) from AP.
