A Simple Change that Addresses Many of LoL's Biggest Problems

I propose that the ability for each team to ban a "class" of champions would be an interesting change to the game. This could be instead of the normal ban phase, in addition to it, or as a choice (either ban 1 class or 3 champions)

By "class" I mean a collection of champions that share a similar trait. There are many ways to classify champions, and some classes could be larger than others.

Some examples:

Stats based classes: top 20 by winrate, top 20 by pick rate, LCS top picks, LCS top bans

large classes: melee, ranged, AD, AP, tank

Smaller classses: Aura, dash, mobility, marksman, knock up, poke

The list of "classes" could even rotate week by week. There could be a large pool of bannable classes in total, with some portion of the pool available as class ban options each week.

I think that this would address many problems with the game. These include stagnation, meta-slavishness, LCS-copycats, mobility creep, power creep, AoE CC chains, how few bans there are relative to how many champions there are, as well as the "slowness" of ban phase.

Please share your thoughts!

Might be an interesting featured game mode (this match... no Marksmen!), but in General there would probably be an obvious optimal "thing" to ban and thus it wouldn't be very interesting.

That would get really nit-picky, "Elise gets a 10 MS increase in her Spider form, so lets her as mobile". And overall win rates don't win games. Skills win games. Having a stat based ban would be really aggravating, and how would you choose which source to listen too.

This sounds like the arbitrary rules in final fantasy tactics advanced. Loved the game, but hated that part. Absolutely not.
