Support item for attack damage?

Has anyone thought about making an AD support item? If so, how would they make gold and how would it be viable for supporting? kind of like the spellthiefs only an AD based stats?

There are a few non meta supports that could see support play with the addition. J4 comes to mind.

ok but when j4 was used as support before he has free armor scaling on his flag...

and he was played as a tank/engage type of support which still can be done.. relic shield start. so you can help cs and heal the adc...

go ad reds, hp seals, armor quints, and whatever blues needed ( i know the runes is gonna change but for current ) this would give you 9 ad + 13 armor 72 hp you get extra hp from relic shield start

then build items that would benefit your adc/team like idk black cleaver , frozen mallet etc so something like item 2303 item 3022 item 3071 item 3190

now you have wards, gold income, hp, armor/mr cdr, armor shred and a slow combined with his kit utility

And this is true, however, an AD support item could allow him better itemization as a support as opposed to coin or relic shield. Just as an option.

Could also bring out camille support again, as well as maybe wukong

All utility adcs.

There's also Kalista, who has a vision-granting ability and the the greatest peeling ability in the game, essentially consisting of a Thresh Lantern, a Flash, and a Zhonya's, on top of being an aoe cc engage.

Jayce and Jhin could function similarly to a Mage Support, Jinx and Caitlyn would probably make pretty good lane bullies and the many melee engage Supports like Lee Sin, Jarvan and Illaoi don't have to gimp their damage output as much.

I've personally gotten three adcs to mastery 7 playing them mostly as Support. Their biggest obstacle is probably itemization.

They can't make an AD support item because it would give ranged supports an insane advantage. Can you imagine having Cait/Karma and having Karma's autos do as much dmg as Cait's until Cait finishes a second item? Auto attacks scale off AD thus creating a support/utility/ad item would be broken as fuuuuck
