Boosting VS playing with a friend. Whats the difference?
can you get banned for playing with a friend that is waaaay better than you and he carries you every single game to high elo?

Boosting is paying for it. Simply queuing with a friend is not. Riot has restrictions in place that prevent you from queuing too far out of your rank, as well.
No, playing with a friend is not against the rules. As long as you are the one playing on your account and they play on their own account, you are fine. Some people call this "boosting", but it isn't actually true boosting. It is just playing the game with a friend.
True "boosting" is having someone else play on your account in order to get you to a higher elo. This is especially common during placements, as some people will have a high elo player play their placements in order to get a better starting rank. This is extremely prohibited, and will result in a ban.

Umm, no, you can't get banned for it.
Because you still have these chinese boosters openly advertising their services in chat while spam playing pantheon.
Basically what i'm trying to say is riot doesnt care, at all.
technically so long as both of you are on your main accounts its viewed as acceptable because they cant "boost" you.
however if they make a smurf or play on their alternate account to even enter bronze because they normally never even remotely place there... and then dump you as soon as you hit silver 5 or gold 5, thats just boosting. that will get his account banned and yours stripped of rewards for the season.
my ultimate ruling is why tf are you duoing it in ranked, you cant possible find your true position on the ladder if you duo.
now if you're doing it in normal matches, its perfectly acceptable behavior, bronze 5 and challengers are free to duo/group at their leisure.
