Question About Low vs High Elo Champs

So I'm not very familiar with ranked or good at understanding the ranked and mmr and lp stuff, even if I have a basic grasp of it. I don't play ranked, so I only know what I take away from my friends talking about it bc they play ranked.

There is one question I have though that my feeble mind can't come up with an answer with alone.

I know that there have to be actual, definitive reasons as to why some champions suck in high elo but dominate in low elo and vice versa. Is it just a difference in average mechanical skill and general game knowledge? Is it something else?

Also sorry if this is on the wrong board, I thought gameplay sounded like a good one to put this in, but I could be wrong.

simply put these champs have a simple playstyle and once you know how to deal with them they no longer become a problem. For example Master yi can stomp games in low elo but once you figure out you just need to cc him or just not let him get a lead then he is simple to play against.

as for champs that work in high elo but not in low elo. Its just simply some champs are really difficult to play correctly but if you can play them correctly then they are really good. Such as Irelia, gnar, zed, and riven.

This doesnt make those champs useless in high elo it just makes them worse in high elo.

Statistically speaking most champs start to perform better the higher up in elo they get.(the better you are with the champ the better they perform..duh)

Very few champions if any are actually good in lower elos while being trash in high.
