Riot, are changes coming?

I'm genuinely curious and hoping to hear from a rioter whether riot and their balance team are find with how the game is currently. I feel if they thought it was a problem there'd be changes by now. ADCs are so strong relative to literally anyone else on the map at almost all stages of the game and have been for a long time now. The tower buff was also a nerf that cancelled out the buff, that felt deliberate to me. Power creep is insane which makes teamfights last seconds ad makes the game far less competitive imo.

I just feel like Riot is OK with these things or disagrees? I would love a rioter to at least confirm whether they are even looking at them or if they think they're fine

  1. Towers (I'm also curious if you stand by the addition of First Blood tower and taking away resistances from bot turret early game, which i personally feel were harmful changes)

  2. ADC itemisation and how fast they come online, their impact on the game compared to other roles

  3. Power creep (obviously I appreciate this is a far more complex issue)

I know rioters cant tell us what they're planning cause they don't want to disappoint or leak or w/e, but could we at least have confirmation you see these things as a problem or as a non-issue? I am literally falling out of love with this game, I'm struggling to have fun with it at all for the first time ever. Want to feel like its worth carrying on and waiting for changes cause I feel like they're not coming.

Two out of the three things you’ve listed no Rioter has responded to or at least half sluggishly.

  1. Still trash and will forever be, buffing towers will make LCS boring which is why they’re buffing baron for some odd reason.

  2. They’re looking to add an item to not make them mandatory in teams anymore, though the current state of them no one has addressed

  3. They don’t seem to care at all about this and would rather see people blown up in two seconds.

They’re looking to add an item to not make them mandatory in teams anymore, though the current state of them no one has addressed

Even if they don't become mandatory, they are still going to be the best choice because they are way better than the other classes. The only way I'd see another class going to botlane is if the new changes powercreep the new classes to ADC's level which would be insane.

Buffing baron is to stop those 'over at 15 but not actually finished till 30' games. Tedious, boring to watch, dull to play.

The problem is that the game gets very snowbally, but the correct way to handle being ahead is to NOT THROW. Which means very slowly and carefully choke the enemy team out, carefully remove all the outer towers, farm the enemy jg. Get a bit more gold advantage. DON'T force hard fights, DON'T get too aggro. Just don't throw, and the snowbally nature of the game will make the ahead team win more if they slowly strangle the losing team.

This is becoming more prevalent in solo queue at high levels. Snowbally, but slow, makes for tedious games.

take my upvote.

They don't care about players getting two shot. They would rather watch us masturbate doing nothing.

Riot is ignoring the community again. They refuse to listen to the intelligent player base and are more willing to listen to survey answers they send to 6 year olds. This is what arrogance gets you. I wouldn't blame the whole balance team though. My guess, from experience with work environments, is that whomever the lead balance manager is, is a blowhard. Someone that pushes around their weight with terrible ideas and suggestions. This is the person I would blame for the inferior state of things.

2 is mostly a problem with rageblade (one-item powerspike) and Tristana to a degree. Ezreal was nerfed pretty bad and his winrate now falls off like a truck late game.

Well, if it helps anything, they are solving a problem you didn’t list: AP itemization. To answer the general question of the post, they are making changes. Not necessarily for what you’re asking, but you can’t deny change is coming.

riot has said they are working on making anyone relevant down at bot lane, not just supp and adc. that theoretically should shift stuff all over. but the trademark "soon" is the timeline as far as I know.

See thats the major issue, at the end of the day the balance team does not see the community's complaints as a problem with the game they instead see it as a problem with how the community views the game and that things like adc assassin balance, tank balance, game pacing are all fine and dandy its just a community issue and not a gameplay issue.

Given this mentality you should not expect the systematic changes that they absolutely should be doing such as increasing the core cost of zeal items, balancing the power curve of duskblade for melees and adjust its usability on ranged charters who have attack speed above a certain value in general.

There is also the issue that their game mechanics developers, live balance team, champion design team and champion rework team all seem to have a different outlook on what leagues balance is so lets call this the destiny 2 effect for the time being, take a reworked champion like Evelynn who was redesigned to be played against and have pretty sizable downtimes with no thought given to the users enjoyment vs the new champion Zoe who was designed solely to play as with zero thought to being played against which creates discord within the game because the champion designers are balancing with two completely different set of rules depending on the team.

i genuinely dont know what game people are playing when they say ADC is broken, i find it to be the one of the worst roles.

Tanks are unkillable Assassins seem pretty fine to me considering everyone nukes support is fun as hell and typically do better than ADC's in lanes you can jungle as anyone and anything and it works, jungling has the biggest impact in a game, they can win lanes without killing anyone

Bruisers are iffy, they're awful when behind and beyond broken when ahead. i bet in my last 15 games, an ADC has had little to no impact in my games.

Also this is all coming from an EX-ADC main cause i find that role unplayable - everything nukes it, and they cant shred tanks like they're supposed to.

Hard to believe that a single man named ice frog was able to balance and update dota for years. Riot puts out broken shit even after it goes out on test servers and claims afterward that they lack the manpower to stop these dumb decisions to happen. What a joke. A SINGLE MAN did a better job with dota than a whole freaking company does with the balance of League of Legends.
