As I believe it accentuates your damage, it does not make it (though it does provide quite a bit) If your an assassin, try to grab an item or two before you get 
EDIT: Duskblade is a great item for assassins, just not when rushed.

OK so yes, you don't blindly rush it. But your post says not to rush it since it accentuates damage and your reasoning is that you should build defensive first?
Faustavian1 votesNot necessarily defensive, just something that will allow you to get the passive off -and useful-, such as yhomuus, Tiamat, Hexdrinker. Because I can't tell you how salty the tear is that escapes my cheeks when the passive doesn't finish off an enemy.
