Minimap issues

I am wanting two things...

1. Increase the size of the minimap

2. Remove the white box in minimap that shows "where the screen is".

I am aware that there is a way to modify the config file to change the minimap size to over 100%. But because this involves editing the config file, this seems dicey and I am worried about whether this is bannable.

I know of no way to remove the white box. Seriously, if you have more than 100 games under your belt, you can look at your screen and know where you are on the map overall. I want to be able to glance at the minimap and not see a white line cutting through the image of the enemy champ that is viewable on the minimap. The champion circles are small enough that the line can prevent proper identification of who is there and distracts from the utility of the minimap. I can see no settings that I can change to do this. Any ideas?
