Fixes for starting games with a player disconnected (4v5, 2v3, etc)
-
The launcher now contains a latency meter so that players can see their connection status to the league of legends Game Server. This helps a player see if they are having connection issues. I've personally had this happen...
-
During champion selection or the loading process, if a player loses connectivity for more than X seconds (using the same above latency meter coding), the game will automatically be forfeited and all players will be requeued.
p.s. while i was writing this.. i queued for a lol match.. we ended up with a 4v5.. ez has been DC since beginning of game!! I queued as support malphite, with support everything.. and have no ADC... vs 2 people bot. At this point in League of Legends, I would think this issue would have been solved.. The launcher accept, decline queue system is good initially but during the rest of the process people still drop.
Sad part is we doing ok, 10 to 11.. but the lack of one person is making the lanes be pushed cuz they always have an extra guy left...
and we surrendered with the end score of us 19 to them 25. sad. pretty close game but they kept pushing constantly and we had no adc. had we had the ADC we may have kept trying but we were lacking a critical role. If the above features were implemented, the above scenario wouldn't have happened.
p.s. the player replacement system for a lost player who disconnects is also a good idea. All it has to be is someone who is looking to fill in and play the same player/gear/etc. that the previous player disconnected with.
EDIT/UPDATE: Now in another 4v5!!!! Our shen DC from level 2 with connection issues.. hasn't been back.. no jungle.
