Dynamic Queue games can never be balanced

If riot implemented dynamic queue for monetary reasons (e.g. to get more people to play ranked who would in turn buy more skins and whatnot) whatever, it was a bad move. If they did it to try and make the game better they were wrong. TBH their decision was probably a mixture of both. The problem with dynamic queue is that games can never be balanced; there are too many variables. Solo queue games could have matchmaking issues because of smurfs and other issues but DQ takes the cake in terms of being hard to create fair games.

1.) Boosting - Whether it is prevalent or not, it can cause serious issues in matchmaking

2.) Players of higher mmr used to balance out premades on the other team - This is just ridiculous. No one knows if the premade is casual or competitive and the higher mmr player could be a weaker player than other players in the same mmr range. The higher mmr player could also be boosted.

3.) Premades themselves - As aforementioned premades vary from casual to extremely competitive and a bunch of diamond+ smurfs can just jump on a silver or gold account and ruin a game for the people they are playing against.

There will never be perfect balancing and we shouldn't expect that. But DQ puts the terms "fair" and "equal" to shame because of its many competitive flaws. Riot has said that if they can make it so that games are as close to 50/50 as they can be for premade games, they will be happy. That is BS because 1.) it is impossible with the number of variables that dynamic queue allows, and 2.) the best option is for players of similar mmr to play against other players of similar mmr in a fair environment. Premades do not allow for a fair environment because of the aforementioned issues and the use of voice communication among other things. There is no ranked as of now in League. I hope they bring it back someday.

Bringing back solo queue essentially removes the ability for people to play with friends in ranked. Getting five people online at the same time when your friends could live in different time zones or have jobs or school is pretty much impossible unless you are training to be a professional team (and thus expecting this to result in a monetary gain).

Solo players have crappy games because of dynamic queue, but group players have NO games because of solo queue. The answer is clear: dynamic queue is just the better system. It needs to be tweaked, certainly, but not removed.

You serious mate? Premades can always go normals without screwing solo players.

Good?

Oh? And what was wrong with the "If you don't like DQ, just get some friends" argument you defenders kept regurgitating? Why can't you get a few more friends? Or does your own logic not work when it's turned on you?

Solo players have crappy games because of dynamic queue, but group players have NO games because of solo queue.

Probably because ranked has been casualized this season because of Dynamic. Premades don't belong in ranked unless it's an organized team, which used to have it's own separate queue...

It needs to be tweaked, certainly, but not removed.

Completely disagree. Dynamic has no place in the game Riot continues to believe is competitive while they fight tooth and nail to defend the shitfest they forced down everyone's throats. But let's say it does get tweaked; I'm all for having a max of 2 people queued together in a separate queue system while this form of Dynamic stays by itself somewhere else. Would that ruin it? Probably, but honestly, it's for the best if it dies and never comes back.

I agree generally. The tweaking may be incredibly difficult to do, yes, it may be near impossible, yes, but it's not impossible.

I like the idea I read somewhere of having one Dynamic Queue, but then separate Dynamic and Solo ladders. A huge amount of matchmaking tweaking would still have to be done, for sure, but it seemed like a place to start for how to improve the ranked ladder.

Have you lost your fuckin mind? Do you really wanna go back to the days of arguing over some 5th grader about who called mid first and only being able to que with 1 friend at a time? I'm sorry sir but some of the more social type have more than one friend we would like too play with. And i really don't care if you loners don't like the new system. Try making some friends ff's. Its really not that hard i own a club 40 people strong and have my list maxed out. I'm sure if i can do that you can find two friends to play with out of the 120 million people that make up this player base. And who the fuck do you think you are too look down on rito and tell them their doing a shit job on their game? They have created the most successful game on the planet by a mile stone....and have a player base that more than quadruples any the most popular games on the planet that would dare to call themself's competition. They are multi billion almost trillion dollar company and you have the nerve too look down upon them from your 200 dollar laptop in your one bedroom apartment while you work at white castle and tell them how they should be running their company.....GTFO

The new champ select can stay, the DQ system can die in a fire and have it's ashes stomped into the dirt.

Good for you, but we loners are required to keep this mistake running, but it's perfectly fine the solo players are angry and forced to bow to the whims of the premade right?

So...your argument is make friends in order to climb? Or just make friends because that solves everything? As I said before, solo players are needed for DQ to function, if everyone queued up with friends, the system is no longer running smoothly...that means there's a problem. And by your logic of "just find friends," you shouldn't have a problem with ranked 5's then. They're considering returning it, and with it, they should re-enable solo queue.

Someone who has been playing since season 2 and remembers what Riot used to be like, what Riot used to design by, and where Riot's interests used to be. Yes, they created a hugely successful game. You know who else did before them? Blizzard. WoW dominated the MMO market for years with a large and happy playerbase...then they started becoming detached from the community that built them up (like we did with LoL) and the game started going to shit (kinda like League is now.) Design and balance are headed by the mentality of "I'm a dev, I know better than you, shut the fuck up and deal with it" rather than taking the time to actually think about the possible consequences as a result of a decision. Or that thought was had, passed around for a good laugh, and said choices were made anyway because they don't care what we think anymore. Blizzard did the same thing - they insisted that they knew what players wanted when they truly didn't have the slightest clue why people continued to be angry. That's where "You don't want that, you think you do, but you don't" came from. It's happening to Riot now as well.

Yes I do, because they've sold out to the corporate corrupt in order to gain as much money as possible while damning the idea of fairness and player happiness because it's not as profitable while you filthy fucking mindless white knight drones ram your noses up their ass blindly defending their every action no matter how idiotic or nonsensical it is with a smile on your face or with tears streaming down it as you run to the keyboard at the first sign that someone is unhappy with your benevolent rulers.
