Why aren't we allowed to dodge in promos?

It honestly is stupid. A week ago or so, I had my promos to silver 3, and in champion select two people blatantly stated that they were going to troll. And they did. So I lost that game, and I could've just dodged it if I was allowed to!

It seems so counter intuitive to not be able to dodge in promos - the matches that matter the most. Just sitting in champion select, knowing that you will loose and not being able to do anything with it is just so terrible.

It's to prevent potential abuse, which makes sense. The problem is the fact that promos exist at all, not that you can't choose if you want to dodge; why should 3 games hold so much more weight than the others?

To be honest promos between divisions in the same tier shouldn’t even exist. When you hit 100 in gold 3, you should immediately go to gold 2. Save the promos for gold > platinum.

Because otherwise people would dodge way more often until they were sure they would win just so they can get the promotion. Dodges should only be used once in a while.

To be fair, you also automatically get autofill protection during promo games so you get a bonus in your favor too.

Dodging isn't really something that Riot advocates, if dodging instances were to rise sharply, it would negatively effect matchmaking, that is why there is a punishment for it.

It's to prevent people from abusing the system, and dodging every time something doesn't go their way in champ select.

Basically, if you have to dodge, you would have lost that game anyway.

This has yet to happen to me, but I've been in lobbies where someone else was in promos. I took the bullet for them and dodged.

I also took a sceenshot and sent it to riot, but there was no response.

this is why i never state im in promos... cause people will troll to spite u if u make any mistake at any point.. Steal a kill? "im feeding", Steal CS? "Im feeding", Ban my Champ? "Im feeding" you died?? "im feeding"..

So i never state im in promos.. i had 7 promos in 3 days to go from silver to gold.. trolls in 6 of them and my 7th promo i get to game 5 and in champ select the client freezes on me and it makes me dodge and therefore it counts as a loss.. so no promo.. from there is a a free fall.. and with these changes i dont know if ill go back to ranked..

Rito has put too much emphasis on damage and shorter games.. they have taken away alot of the fun for those who enjoy the game for what it was. a good 40 mins of gaming.. now its 30 mins and snowballing flaming and if u say anything back to the flamers they take action to u as well..

But i have drifted from the OP.. id take a 15 min ranked ban for a dodge in promos if it didnt result in an automatic loss.. they should grant 1 free promo dodge a month or something like that.. cause i cant be the most unlucky player in the world that gets morons trying zilian jungle or shaco support in my ranked promos..

sounds like trolling behavior is the bigger issue than the ability to dodge; after all dodging wouldn't be needed if trolling behavior can be taken care of at first place. After all, rito doesnt want us to mess with matchmaking system.

Here's a better question: Why the @%&@ do promos exist in the first place?

If you get to 100 LP, you get promoted. Should be simple as that.

If you're going to subscribe to a rigged matchmaking system like league's ranked one then y r u demanding it let you manipulate it

Because people would dodge because of unfavorable matchups. Or because their team picked someone they didn't like.

The question here is, if people were allowed to dodge promos without taking a loss, would there be more players climbing? My guess is no.

Riot already give free win if you've been to a rank/tier. It's still not helping people from climbing. Climbing is about your skill, not about how the system favors you. You eventually reaches a plateau where you can't climb anymore, unless you improve.

Riot just needs to remove promos all together. I think Series are fine, but should be 2 out of 3 wins. They could stay 3 out of 5, since it gives you 2 extra chances when you only need more win.
