Filter my own messages?

There should be a way to filter my own messages. I mean, an option I could click that would filter out any messages I type that has profanity. I really don't want to flame, and when I do flame, I tend to use ''bad'' words. If there was a small notification when I used these bad words, something like: ''Hey! Calm down dude. You want to type this?''. If this was a thing, I'd be much less toxic.

Entirely removing the chat isn't an option - I'd like to be able to communicate with my team.

Some people are mentioning ''self control''. When I play games, especially Leauge of Legends, my self control tends to vanish. It just fades away from existance. It just happens when people are feeding, trolling or something similar. I just can't control myself.

I'll upvote this every time it's in a post. It needs to happen.

No, "just have self control hurr durr" isn't a suitable replacement. Even the best of us get pissed, and start flaming. Even Ghandi got pissed.

Riot giving people the option to do this doesn't hurt anyone. And nobody is forced to use it. It's an option. Something they can do, if they feel it would help.

You shouldn't need a filter for your chat, you obviously know that how you get isn't acceptable or you wouldn't want the filter in the first place so instead of seekig a solution to the problem that just prevents others seeing it you should work on ways to remind yourself that what you are typing isn't appropriate, if you can work on it yourself then you will be a much more pleasant team member to play league with.

There is a filter, it is also sometimes called self-control. It is built into every person, some just have mastered it better then others.

Just think of how learning to control yourself in a video game will be a benefit for the rest of your life. Learning how to control your emotions while playing, could save you later in life when dealing with a real life situation, where "loosing it" can have greater repercussions then a a 14 day ban.
