Master Yi midlaner: Should I come back to playing this game after a year long hiatus?

I'm a no-boots-champ player. Specifically, a no-boots midlane Yi player. I also either play Teemo and Zilean with no boots.
_ (And was probably mid lane Yi'ing before faker was a thing, but got stuck with the faker copycat title since Riot in all it's wisdom refuses to show when we registered to play the game and certain champs, and because the match history is generated via JavaScript and not something like PHP with a sort function, that takes forever to backtrack through time with it and that is assuming it doesn't crash your browser, so I can't really prove how long I have been doing this)_

If I come back I will probably be playing Yi for mid, top, and not-support bottom at anytime except jungle because I hate Jungle. A lot of new champs to deal with, I'm sure they all have some form of CC and Riot refuses to give old champs CC, so the old guard has to muscle through the new nonsense and be constantly reminded that everyone around them will be able to stunlock or something at anytime.

I'm sure my old item set has been changed for the weaker too. It looks like my movement speed, attack damage, and crit chance have been decreased while my attack speed and health have increases. So I am more tanky whack-a-mole than burst assassin with a lot of health. Not all that bad.

I also hear that Yi or specific jungle meta items he uses have been nerfed so he can't compete. It seems some people think Yi is strictly a jungle champ. What a joke, if anything that is the one role Yi should avoid, but whatever.

I left this on a hilariously high note. Should I come back and join the hivemind or stay away since I got out while I could?

While you're hilariously arrogant for someone who hasn't played in like a year, Yi mid is just okay enough that you can do fine.

item 3031 item 3046 item 3072 item 3087 item 3036 / item 3033 item 3139

This is the build most people use for crit Yi (and the damage is admittedly staggering), but some variation for personal preference would be fine.

Your builds are... idiotic.
