Riot, questionnaire.

Riot, can you make a questionnaire on you main page of the client in overlook category? I want you to ask people what they think of League. I want you to get feedback about items, champions and meta and show the results to the community.

They do send questionares to people after games. No need to poll 10 million people when you can poll 10000 people randomly and give you an almost equivalent result.

What they shouldn’t do: looked at a super skewed set of data like the boards.

I feel like they don't listen to playerbase. When they did (we wanted shorter games) they went too far with it and made 40min games into 15-20 min games. As if 30min games wouldn't be good enough. I actually started to miss 40-50 min games because they were at least fun. Those 20 min slaughterfests are just not fun. Too much action and not even a little bit of strategy.

You really have no concept of how difficult game balance is.

Let's use an analogy. It's as difficult as making a Space X Falcon 9 launch on time. You can believe me or not, but game design is basically rocket science given the number of variables and how small changes can cause drastic effects.

I know how difficult it is, but this isn't about difficulity. Riot's balancing philosophy is just wrong. They do one thing and the effect is different than wanted. I mean, it is quite easy to predict what is going to happen if you decrease damage in this game. People will buy different items, because oneshotting would no longer work as well as before and burst damage would be less important. More important would be damage over time and damage per second, which would make the game healthier. They should basically take some other games as an example. POE is doing it great. All spells are very interesting and they are balanced quite well. You can make an incredible amount of different builds.

You are saying that it is hard, but those people at Riot know how to balance, but they are still not doing it right. They have long history of balancing this game and they still are doing the same mistakes. In balancing everything is about experience and information, they should already have enough of both.

I'm going to assume you also think doctors never have unintended consequences of a med they prescribe?

You say they're mistakes... But maybe the direction they want it to go in is just not what you want?

You make a lot of predictions about reducing damage... But you refuse to look at the negatives that would happen. To name a few: reduction of the assassin class to irrelevant, greatly increased game time, loss of comparison between the damage types...

I abuse assassins, I would love them to be nerfed to the ground. They were dominating for too long and their meta was the worst. It would also be great to increase game time to 30 min.

For now the thing that would fix temporarly the game would be removing Dark Harvest, Duskblade and Stormrazor. Those are the worst items in the game and the worst keystone (also, am abusing all of them). Dark Harvest will never be balanced, I would replace it with something else.

Duckblade and Stormrazor are stupid (especially Stormrazor, marksman are not marksman anymore). Duckblade is giving too much burst damage to some champions, so that they can miss skillshots and still do enough damage to kill. Stormrazor doesn't suit adc.

That’s your opinion about the state of assassins.

Riot does surveys in client, and via email, regularly about the state of the game. You’re saying that because they aren’t basing their decisions on your opinion that they’re failing. This is simply untrue. Your opinion may just be different than that of the majority.

And no, Riot is not going to completely remove something simply because it is overpowered. They will continue tuning it until it has its place.

You can’t say that things will “never” be balanced. That’s incorrect and shows how naive and shortsighted you are. I am very glad that Riot balances based on their years of experience with this and not the way you think - the game would be trash and every week we’d have something new broken. Every few weeks or so there’d be a whole new League of Legends because you’d keep removing things that are “OP” then overturning other things to compensate. That’s a horrible way to balance a game.

One of the most important parts of balance is making changes that send the game in the right direction without completely remaking the game or causing changes large enough to make it feel different to players.

Go into your client. Run a match. Ask random people what they think. Majority is on my side.

They did it many times. Why not now?

They will continue tuning it until it has its place

Just like in season 8, when they were saying "we can't do anything because it is mid season" and then "we cannot do anything because worlds" and then "we cannot do anything because the season is ending"?

You can’t say that things will “never” be balanced.

Dark Harvest will never be balanced. It was nerfed, it was buffed and it still is shit. There is no middle ground here. It is eather broken or garbage. Which means that it doesn't work in this game and should be removed. Like they did with DFT, Force of Nature, Atma's Reconning, Zephir and that weird turtle thing.

That’s incorrect and shows how naive and shortsighted you are.

Naive is thinking that something will work when it clearly doesn't. I would even call it crazy, thinking that doing the same think over and over again and expect different result.

Every few weeks or so there’d be a whole new League of Legends because you’d keep removing things that are “OP” then overturning other things to compensate. That’s a horrible way to balance a game.

Somehow other games are removing broken shit and replacing them with something else and it works.

Don't you see how this and what Riot does each season contradicts with each other? They are doing exactly that. Every single season.

Really, just talk with people in your games. Give yourself 2 weeks or a month of research and then say things. I was actually forced to do research about it, because I was writing a diploma paper about that. Majority of EU is frustrated with the game. They don't have fun. Idk how the situation is in NA or China, but situation in EU is really bad.
