Hextech Crafting

Is there a way to get hextech chests/keys without buying them? For example I played games where my premade friend got S and I didnt get a chest but he did, I think this is because I have gotten chat restricts before, I am wondering since I have gotten chat restricts will I ever be able to get any chests or keys from games? Or I will never be able to because I have gotten chat restricts in the past?
