Sightstone upgrades should/could have unique ward upgrades.

Right now, the only reasons you want to build item 2303 item 2301 item 2302 is because they save you an item slot and combine warding and the passive utility it has to offer. Arguably the active portions of each item, especially item 3069 and item 3092 are too good to give up for the other options available.

I propose new unique passives for these three sightstone upgrades that change the way sightstone wards function or enhance their abilities.

Ideas could include more ward health, persisting vision after death, and a larger vision radius.

Any ideas or opinions?

Thanks for reading.

Considering that most supports basically have little choice in what Support works well for them. Further dividing the eye items would make it harder on supports. As you would have to think of what vision type you need before even selecting a champion. (Unless I'm miss reading this, and the vision upgrades act like enhancements.)

Also, I would probably Disagree with you 90% of the time, concerning the value of the support items. The slot efficiency on Eye of the watchers is way more impressive than FQC. If your going the "Second APC" rout, Eye of the watchers + a Blasting wand, can easily give you more stats than FQC+sight stone for about the same price (while not compromising vision) And for more traditional supports like Sona, Your going to want to rush the support items that synergize with their kits. (Censor, and Mikale's/Athene's) Which again makes the slot efficiency that more important.

Yes, I have an idea. Bring back Clairvoyance and make the gold income items enhance it the way jungle items enhance Smite.

That would help diversify them and make you feel like you are losing less by taking them. I really believe one of the ways to fix the issues with the eye items is to give something to make up for the lack of stats and active abilities. item 2303 is a great example of how this kind of thing would work. Not only does it give more health than item 3401, but it keeps the spoils of war passive that lets you heal your ally and share gold. item 2301 doesn't do anything other than net you gold on hit with half the AP of item 3092 (which isn't much to start out with) and item 2302 the worst offender and right now shouldn't even cost the same as item 2303 with how little it gives. I don't know about ward modifying, but some form of passive that is unique to each of them would go a long way for the Supports who have to carry these things.

item 3092 Costs a decent chunk of gold to upgrade too so I avoid it for item 3190 or item 3222. The only times I build it are when I'm ahead and can abuse the active, or when the enemy support builds it so I can use it whenever they do. item 2301 is better imo, frees up an item slot for one more defensive item and you require less CDR items in your build since item 2045 isn't taking up a slot. I always build item 3069 over item 2302 and the active is more useful when compared to item 3092. I also avoid building item 3092 because it no longer gives +100% base mana regen because of the nerf brought on by mages using the item. The nerf was needed but I think there were other options to stop mages from using it. item 2303 is built often when you need extra tankiness or you can get item 3401 for an extra shield on KogMaw. I think they all need tweaks to numbers, passives and abilities, especially item 2302.
