Tahm kench's regurgitate on minions?

I recently laned against a Tahm kench and i noticed that when he throws a minion to harass it explodes in aoe even if it hits nothing... Can we change this? I feel if i sidestep After he launches a minion i at least should be able to avoid the damage when it hit nothing next to me. It'd be a slight nerf but i would appreciate if this could be changed as he's already pretty strong and hard to trade with.
