Do you bring ignite as a support?

So occasionally when I support I bring ignite. If I'm Leona I feel comfortable to bring exhaust and ignite. Anyways I try to bring ignite if the situation calls for it, like the other team is really tanky. However, sometimes my adc complains about it if my ignite accidentally takes the kills but I just really enjoy the kill pressure it brings in lane. So is it okay to bring ignite as a support?

Depends on 2 things. 1: Does your lane have solid kill pressure? Consider Ignite 2: Does the enemy team have someone who you would desperately need to exhaust late game? (master yi for example) Consider Exhaust.

TL;DR look at your lane match up and the enemy team's comp when deciding. Don't just take ignite because X champion is good with ignite bot lane.

I prefer Heal on my supports but I see the advantage the other two spells have.

I hate when people do that, it always takes me buy surprise. But I take exhaust because it can keep a fed person in check.

I use it as Blitzcrank. He's fairly safe in lane and he can peel off his carry really easy, so Ignite just drastically increases his laning phase kill pressure to help snowball your ADC. If the enemy is something that can shield it easily, I might not though. If they have a top laner that heals a lot that factors in also.

Edit: Didn't notice the poll. There should be something other than "yes" and "no".

I do take it sometimes, when exhaust isn't needed and/or im playing someone like zyra who might be able to solo the enemy adc and i want to increase that kill pressure. Also good versus healers.

I mostly take exhaust, but the occasion I take ignite usually because no one else on my team has it, and obviously it has it's uses.

When I jungle I take ignite over flash a lot though.

If they have low dive potential, and i'm an agressive support. Sure i'll take ignite.

But most of the time I have to bring exhaust cause they have someone that needs to be hit with it, usually assassins or dive happy fighters.

Adcs don't typically have much damage early game, and they need Heal or Barrier for the defense late game, so Support taking Ignite is extremely smart.

Exhaust is good too because it turns an enemy gank from a 2v3 to a 2v2 because of how overpowered Exhaust is. It's also good when they have melee carry top/mid laners like Irelia or Zed.

I take exhaust, even if there's an enemy healer like Raka.

Mainly because:

  1. I don't want to take ANY kills from anyone, ever. And there's no need.
  2. Good for peeling especially from ganks.
  3. Just as great for doing a 2v2 setup botlane.

I think it's more of a playstyle kind of thing, but I take exhaust 100%. Might be just me.
