But its made as a cheaper lich bane hence, the much smaller damage. just providing the on-hit is worth that 1200 gold, then you pay 850 for the slow smite, and are left with 200 (or 400?) gold to make something more out of it. This item is INCREDIBLY cost efficient for what it provides. Yes, some junglers are going to have a harder time- but not by that much. Now you have reliable mana restoration in the jungle. Fiddlesticks? No more problems. Just drain, auto, crow, auto, drain repeat. Champions who were intended to jungle but could not do so with ease akin to Fid? Diana, Evelynn, Elise, and Fizz are now viable. It increased viability. You cannot argue this point. List all the AP junglers that were there before hand... come on. And viable. Not "oh they made it through the clear...with 10% hp left...". Diana could do it, but had to back- Evelynn had to build Warrior and was forced AD- Elise is....Elise- Fizz had to build War or Devourer. All of these were ap, now they have a reliable ap item. I could provide builds for 3 of these 4 champions (I am not a good Elise player) if you were so inclined to listen. But the point of this miniature essay? JUNGLE DIVERSITY HAS ONCE AGAIN INCREASED.

All I have been seeing for the last while: Cho'gath, Lee Sin, Udyr, Wukong, Maokai, Malphite, Fiddlesticks, Master Yi, Vi, and Shaco with very little deviation. Granted, I am not in a higher elo- but seeing this repeatedly in most of my games (mostly normals) was getting exhausting. You knew where they would be, when they would back, which camp to hit them on at what time because they could not alter the course without losing out on a ton of efficiency.

Just a quick bit: I refer to diversity as anything that can be viable in something more than a playtest. Sure Ashe can jungle, but really she cannot do so safely. Same with Sona. Break the meta all you want, just recognize that outside of extremely proficient play that diversity was limited.

Tl:DR- Runeglaive is a good thing. Should it have replaced Magus? I'm not sure personally. Has jungle diversity been increased from the swap? Absolutely. Thank you for reading- I just had to post this, getting tired of people saying Runeglaive was a bad idea and should never have happened.

Edit: Apparently, Morg/Zyra/Malz jungle are things. Have not seen them, but they are.

Edit2: Even though its on-hit via W (and the effect is on-hit), you have to auto after using your spell anyway. This item is not working as intended on Evelynn.
