The sad reason why Pbe fails to do its job...
I have a request for Riot: please, Riot, for Urgod's sake, please, put more highlight on the classes and subclasses categorization, expand on it and put it in the client. There are people in season 7 who still believe Mundo is a tank. But why the title of this thread? Well, simple. Let's take this: http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-feedback/nXeKtfuJ-galio-feedback-thread I don't deny that the feedbacks are all valuable, but there isn't a single one, not a SINGLE one who talks about Galio and how his kit compliments his role as a Warden. Not one. I guess it's ok considering off roles and builds like Ap Galio or a vanguard style one, considering his kit could be able to do it, but no one has recognized the fact that ALL of his skills are perfect for a stationary tank, hence a warden. His Q creates a zone of high damage, which means if an enemy is diving on my carry and I put it on him, he should think twice about keep hitting or getting away. The W is powerful and the drawback is the slow, and this is because it isn't a skill made for sticking to an enemy, it's a skill made for sticking to an ally and saying "You want to come here? Perfect, I'm waiting for you". The E is sluggish with a delay and the inability to pass through terrain, and this is because, like W, it's powerful and its drawbacks make it so you can't really stick to an enemy with it and it's best used at short range (to protect an ally from a dive). The ult is the only real thing that lets him engage the backlines but this is always to aid an ally who's already diving. He's pretty much like Braum with his W in this regard: he mainly protects the carries, but also has the tools to aid the engager. And they all failed to notice that. Someone went close to this similarity, but didn't get it. What I'm complaining about is that no one in the feedback thread on Pbe caught these aspects, which are the ones Riot put more emphasis because, well, it's his primary role! And they put up a Feedback Thread especially for this reason, and noone is really helping. Also I strongly suspect this is the reason why sometimes Pbe is lackluster with new champions and reworks, especially when the subject has a rather supportive role. Also, one othe thing: please, Riot, when doing reworks, explain WHAT the champion was supposed to be, and why it failed: for example, Galio was always meant to be an anti-mage warden, it isn't a new thing made up now. I relate his problems pretty much to the old Gragas's ones: the kit was somewhat right, but there was so much power in the Q barrel that he was played as a full ap mage mid instead of a tank/bruiser. The same happened with Galio. My guess is that their approach was something like this: "Ok, let's make it so mr also gives him more damage. Mmh... we could put a passive the gives him ap the more mr he has. Mmh... so with 150 bonus mr (an optimal case) he gains something like 40 ap. But this to adds a meaningful increase in damage, so let's give him ap scalings, so with the few ap he gets from the passive he will deal substantial more damage." This in combination with 2 ranged aoe skills led to the "unexpected": let's play him full ap as a ranged caster, even though his skills were meant as needs to waveclear and poke against mages.
