Who else should I play?

Hey guys! I was wondering who else I should play in the mid lane. I am maining Zed right now. I want to play characters like him in the mid lane. I play the usual support for faster queuing so I am starting to get better at Vel'koz. Are there any champions that you think are good in the mid lane currently? I would like to find a secondary champion to get better at since every time someone bans Zed, I am clearly doomed.
