3 Yes votes should = surrender

Lately it is hard for me to maintain interest in playing this game. I want to love it but one thing in particular always makes me second guess if I should play League or do something else with my time. That thing is the potential to get stuck in a 40+ minute game where you know you are going to lose 12 minutes in.

This is especially stressful and exhausting when you have lost 3 inhibs at 12 minutes and the enemy team still has all of their turrets. And don't forget the cherry on top where your team is trying to play out of meta champions (Don't forget constant D/C and reconnecting teammates) while the enemy team has an LCS wombo combo team comp.

Can we shorten the /ff timer to 15 minutes in and include a majority rules system where 3 yes votes = ff? This would be especially helpful to the players who don't want to be banned for leaving a game like this rather than continuing to "play" for another 30 minutes. Let's face it, 40 minutes is a REALLY long time. When you know the outcome after 10 minutes, it is a loooooooooong chore ESPECIALLY with fired up teammates who are ready to kill each other.

I played S6 a bit near diamond, and it is more like people are so fucking terrible at this game that they surrend at 20, and there's nothing you can do to stop them doing so, and it's very frustrating, they don't even want to fight (it's like 10% of games). People that surrend at 20 are to me the worst kind of players, ie those who NEVER carried a game (game is full of them in S6). Take a game where every lane is in difficulty, and make it win by your actions IS carrying a game (do not flame, play extremely safe, stick with your team, don't tilt, think before you do anything), and to me this is playing the game actually. That's why I vote for removing /surrender or at least make it possible at 30 mins, except when you have an AFK where it's always available.

If you thought ONE time in your life that a game was lost and finally you won, then you should never use /surrender, and I am pretty sure it is the case of everyone.

So then you agree. Because AFK was one piece of the pie.

Yep, I agree, if someone is truly AFK. The contract is 5v5.

The amount of games where I was sure I was going to lose at 12 minutes is pretty high, the amount of those games Ive ended up winning is pretty high. I mean around 50-60%. And some of those games were us just getting completely stomped

Pandemic Punch1 votes

I feel that you don't understand the overall game that much if you are so sure you are going to lose and still come back and win 50-60% of the time. For me, it is 100% lose when I am sure we are going to lose. I always give my team the benefit of the doubt until all of our inhibs are down, none of their turrets are destroyed, team comp is strongly in their favor, and my teammates keep trying to randomly take jungle creeps only to constantly be picked off in 1v5's or 2v5's over and over.

It really isn't fair to the three players who voted yes to the ff especially when the other two mostly vote no just out of spite.

people can't close games, atlas in bronze/silver and atm where i am at, in gold its the same and a team can throw awayy a lead in minutes.

Pandemic Punch1 votes

Not in the circumstances that I have described. This is still beside the point concerning the 3 players that vote yes and 2 players vote no just out of spite.

B00B001 votes

thats a fair point i was just talking generally.

as for 3player vote with DynamicQ 3players (premeds) would just vote to ff if they felt like they where loosing at 30s in, some people don't have the capacity to fight from behind (again generally not your DC/afk/troll combo you had) and its not hard to regain the lead and win in these ELO's from one mistake, I'm no pro and only gold4 but even i can see that a 3man vote is a bad idea, 4man it needs to be.

I don't agree with this. There were so many times when I had 2-3 teammates give up only for us to win. I don't give up unless the enemy has a 20 kill lead and I'm not strong enough to do my role well

Pandemic Punch1 votes

The circumstance I described was MUCH worse than just a 20 kill lead by the enemy team. Also, 2 people very often vote no just because they are mad at their teammates for irrational reasons.

Around999People1 votes

I still disagree.

Fun story: Was playing the old Sion who's my main. Team was losing badly. Some Went afk. I won a few 1v5's practically solo and we won.

Point? If you play a late game champ get to the late game. Lol. Secondary point: don't give up cuz that's lame. I report teams that surrender for no reason

Your case is a reason to surrender tho. But cases like that are maybe 1 in 50 games

Pandemic Punch1 votes

Well, that case happened 3 games in a row when I duo'd with a friend recently. This is the reason I started the discussion. I have had many games where 1 person never connected and our team still won pretty handily and I was never doubting it. I am not the typical person that throws up a surrender just because we gave up first blood. I understand the game, I understand teammates tilting and arguing with each other the whole time, and I know when we truly can't win.

3 inhibs down for 40+ minutes is extremely boring to play when the enemy team has all of theirs and the whole map is dark. It is also really stressful with everyone wanting to kill each other and you know you can't just leave or you risk being banned. The majority of people wanted to quit that game and the minority wanted us to suffer lol

The Last Ballad2 votes

I always vote no unless the game isn't fun(it's surprising how many people can't have fun when they are behind). I don't care if we are losing, as long as there is a chance that we can win, I'm going to take it. I have also noticed that the people who want to surrender are usually the person the fed the enemy assassin or hyper-carry.

Pandemic Punch1 votes

So, is it fun to play with no inhibs from 12-15 minutes to 40+ minutes while everyone is arguing with each other? Sigh, I give up. People aren't even trying to understand or read my initial post. Everyone just wants to assume I am one of the guys that wants to /ff after first blood.

Quepha1 votes

If the game lasts 28 more minutes, then you don't really KNOW you will lose.

Fizpocalypse1 votes

If they take 40 mins to when after getting you down 3 inhibs at 12 mins that game is totally winable

Prince Mittens1 votes

Based on what I've read so far, it seems the case you're describing is more rare; more an exception than a norm. The norm discourages easier surrenders. To make everyone else's experience worse to fix your niche problem would be a net detriment to the player base imo. Just stick through it. When yu join a game, know what you're possibly committing to.
