Competitive Play for Junglers
**Throughout this week I've heard a lot of summoners speaking about how
and
are the only " viable " champions for jungle in the LCS. **
Now, if you think about it that's not true at all. In nearly every game you play there will be certain factions (champions in this case) that will be stronger than another. This is what leads to preferred picks and often makes it seem as if that's all that is "viable" to play. Now if Riot nerfs
,
and
then all of sudden there are junglers which take their spot as "viable" and the cycle continues as there will always be junglers that are stronger than others. For example
,
,
would all rise to the top of jungle again if the three mentioned were nerfed. Then people would then complain about the poor "diversity" once again as the pros will and would want to pick the strongest champions in the game. But if you think about it, when you play ranked would you necessarily play
or
jungle when there are so many and much better picks out there, so the same thing applies, except this time it's the pros actual job to win.
Now I don't know about you but I don't see how Riot can control what is played in the LCS just because certain champions are stronger than others which will always be the case in a game like this. If they nerf
this season then someone has to and will take his place as a crowd favourite, it's just a fact when it comes to games like this.
You may say that
is too broken but in all honesty as a team fighter he is relatively poor compared to
or
and a lot of other junglers. The reason he is so good is his high mobility which is utilized almost to perfection by pros making him seem ridiculously powerful. But I would like to see a below Diamond game in which someone can manipulate
to such an extent that they beat
or
extremely easy mechanical skills and actually are more profitable in ganks and team fights.
is powerful but only in the best of hands otherwise he is quite weak compared to a number of champions.
Now I will not deny that if Riot makes someone too powerful with little to no counterplay, like
when she was released then yes the advantage is very apparent. As she dealt very high damage with few offensive items and could just tank after that. This lead to her being the #1 pick because well she barely had any cons to her as she was the perfect damage dealing tank with sustain.
Otherwise as I stated before, you will have champions which beat each other (
vs
) and those that complement others playing style perfectly (
+
). But when it comes down to it, it's how well you can manipulate that champion and for that very reason
is powerful, and even with his high power cap he is still countered by certain champions.
**Just my take on it. Signed Sincerely - A Summoner Thanks for reading. ****
