Mages and CDR in S6

Since I don't play the PBE and have only casually gone through the items, I don't know their exact state at the moment. So if someone could give a response it would be appreciated.

It appears that ADC's have been allowed greater access to CDR, and Lucidity boots have actually lost some CDR (down to 10% from 15%). As well as the loss of access to CDR in the mastery tree unless investing more points into support. So essentially this is a loss of 10% CDR for mages if they bought the boots and 5% if they didnt. Almost no mage can afford to build more than one cdr item outside of boots (for example, you don't buy both Morrellos and Athenes) and there are only a handful of mages that make use of WOTA well enough to justify the purchase.

This essentially means that investing in 2 CDR items (Lucidity and Athenes/Morrellos) is leaving you at 30% instead of the previous 40% which would have been max. Even if you take into account the CDR mastery you are left with 35% and a new cap at 45%. The main point of this thread is to ask if there is any compensation in other items to allow for mages to reach max CDR with standard builds without being 100% blue buff reliant or will I be required to take scaling CDR glyphs almost exclusively from now on and take a 5% cdr hit overall?

Well sheen has cdr now so mages who build item 3100 Bitchbane willt get some more i guess. Other than that mages get royally fucked. Well you could technically build item 3115 Nashors tooth. And there are more cdr items for mages to build item 3060 item 3152

Problems with these items is that they lack large amounts of ap and give suboptimal stats for alot of mages.

Maybe a new item which gives 10% cdr would be nice.

How about this one:

Eye of the Herald 110 ability power Unique passive: 25 Magic penetration Unique passive: 10% cooldown reduction Unique passive: Piercing Sight; Dealing spell damage deals 5-60 true damage based on lvl over 2 seconds and grants vision of the target. Unique passive: Heralds eye; Abilities and attacks that hit you from behind deal 5% more damage stacking up to 3 times, stacks last 2 seconds, once stacks are lost this passive goes on a 5 second cooldown.

Well Lich Bane has 10% CDR now.So I would say CDR distribution is champion specific not mage specific. Thus, to answer your question you would have to break it down champion by champion.

Personally I've already decided that I'm just going to take CDR per level runes from now on.
