Warwick Ideal Gameplay

Warwick rework I think we all agree Warwick needs a rework.

> First let’s address his old lore, I like I but find it weird that a potion that singed created specifically calls for a celestial’s heart. Like how do you find that out? So here is my rework of his lore, I am not a good story writer so I’ll keep it simple in a more point like form. Warwick grew up in the streets of Zaun having to steal to survive and became good at it. As he grew older people would hire him to procure stuff. Made money and a name for himself as the greatest hunter he could find anyone or anything. Met singed and they were good friends. Warwick got sick with a disease that there was no cure what made him sadder was that he couldn’t hunt anymore the one thing he was good at. Singed gave him medicine to slow down the progression of the disease. Heard about some mysterious stuff in Shurima so went on a trip. He saw Renekton leave his prison. And realized ancient stories about ascension were true. Scoured Shurima for all clues they could find. Returned to Zaun to try and recreate awakening based on what they found. Singed told Warwick that he needed more time but Warwick was running out of time. They did the experiment. Worked at first Warwick became a wolf like creature no longer sick but stronger with heightened senses and able to switch between human and werewolf. As time passed Warwick realized he was becoming more feral and his transformation was harder to control, went to Singed are read what they needed translated to ‘celestial’s heart’. He did the Soraka thing from his previous lore and it didn’t work. He was overcome with rage and transformed into full werewolf and couldn’t change back. Singed places some stuff on him that barely helps his old friend to keep control or just enough control to direct his bestial rage. I’ll upload concept art later

TL;DR- Warwick grew up in the Zaun streets surviving by steal. Grew to be a renowned hunter. Got sick did some researched on Shurima stuff and came across ascension. He and Singed tried a botched version worked at first. Thought he needed Soraka’s heart tried to get it and failed and became Werewolf Warwick.

In my mind because ascension has been lost and old Shuriman language is basically dead, translastions are vague at best and he and singed mixed old magic with Zaun tech to cause a faux-Ascension. It failed because what they translated as needing the heart of a celestial actual meant they needed the love from the celestials you know translation stuff.

Warwick "Mmmm, Tastey"

Warwick, The Blood Hunter Role > Primary: Fighter/ Juggernaut Secondary: Tank

Passive Thirst for Blood >Warwick’s basic attacks deal 1 / 2.5 / 4 bonus magic damage with Warwick healing for this amount and gaining 5% / 6.5% / 8% attack speed; this effect stacks up to five times. If Warwick attacks PREY at 5 stacks, the taste of their blood sends him into a primal state and he becomes SAVAGE for 5 / 6.5 / 8 seconds, doubling the bonuses from his passive. (Kills and assists on PREY refresh SAVAGE’s duration.) If SAVAGE wears off, Warwick loses all stacks of Thirst for Blood.

Q Viscous Strikes
Range: 350 Cost: 35 / 50 / 75 / 90 / 105 Mana Cooldown: 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 seconds

ACTIVE: > Warwick slashes in a 160° cone in front of him dealing physical damage and is healed by 10% of the damage for each enemy struck up to a maximum of 80%. If Warwick slashes PREY, he will slash again for 50% of the damage dealt. (Each strike applies gives Warwick 1 stack of Thirst for blood.) If Warwick is Savage this skill deals 4% of the target's max health as magic damage.

W Tormented Howl Range: 500 Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 Mana Cooldown: 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 seconds

ACTIVE: >Warwick releases a blood curdling howl dealing magic damage to enemies around him and slowing them by 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% / 30% for 2 seconds. Enemies hit who are marked as pPREY are Terrified instead. Allies hit by Tormented Howl gain 10% / 20% / 30% / 40% / 50% of Warwick’s bonus attack speed for 5 seconds.

E Blood Hunt Range: 800 / 1100 / 1800 / 2500 / 3000 Cost: Cooldown: 13 seconds

**PASSIVE: ** >Warwick marks all enemies below 50% of their maximum health as PREY. Warwick gains 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30% bonus movement speed when moving towards PREY. When Warwick is within range of his PREY, they leave behind a scent trail only Warwick can see and within 700 units he gain True sight of Prey. ACTIVE: >When Warwick has 5 stacks of Thirst for Blood, he can activate this skill to leap 200 units. If Warwick is SAVAGE this distance is doubled and additionally if Warwick lands near PREY he will be positioned behind his PREY.

R Infinite Duress/ Savage Mauling Range: 700 Cost: 100 / 125 / 150 Mana Cooldown: 180 / 150 / 100 seconds

ACTIVE: >Warwick blinks to the front of the target enemy champion and channels for 1.5 seconds, suppressing them for 1.8 seconds and dealing physical damage 5 times in 0.3 seconds intervals. The target is marked as prey regardless of health.

Idea/ Explanation I wanted to focus more on his E so I nerfed his healing a bit. Also since I’m trying to make him less of a drain tank, I shifted his damage to physical. I wanted Ww to feel like a beast hunting his prey and gave him SAVAGE and PREY. I also played with his E taking away his permanent movement speed and instead gave him a movement speed buff when moving towards his prey. I also nerfed the movement speed since I gave him a slow. I wanted his passive to feel like he is building up his damage in combat, the more he attacks the more beastly he becomes and while SAVAGE he runs on all fours.

Just leave it to CertaintlyT. "WW is now a support."

I already play him as a support XD Its fun, but inefficient.

Generally, I like this. My main gripe is that E is overfocused, I think. I get that that was the point, but I feel like part of the reason E ended up being as bland as it has been is because adding more to it enforces Warwick (a melee champion) to overly rely on dropping enemies to half health to be of any effect at all. That said, I like the general interactions between the skills that generally keep the Warwick flavor alive!

Definitely some interesting ideas here. Id say we have the outlines of a good WW change, though maybe some tweaking and balancing will be needed (as is the case with pretty much every rework and big change). Overall these ideas nicely reinforce WW's identity as well as making his game play more interesting than it currently is.

Even if Riot don't touch him the least they could do is give him new ability icons (You seen those? shudders They fugly!)

Just like you I love warwick and see him as a relentless hunter but also as a on-hit effect champ, sustain/duelist and pick maker. Here is a link to my post in your previous thread with my original ideas: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/vWqELUq9-riotrepertoir-do-you-have-a-minute-to-talk-about-warwick?comment=0003

Now for your rework;

Passive: Your take on his passive is quite nice, I think his on-hit passive must stay and pushing the attack speed which steroid on his passive is quite nice. I actually pushed it on his E where he would gain a refreshing attack speed buff when attacking Marked target or PREY in your rework whichever work I guess. I like the idea of SAVAGE.

Q: Now I don't belive AoE should be on warwick kit, I think he should be a focused kind of hunter and a strong duelist. You can refer to the link above for my take on a new Q where WW would do a small lunge toward the target to help his chasing and I think giving his Q the ability to proc on-hit might be nice.

W: Your W is interesting, I like that you kept the howl, since I didn't know how to keep it and make it unique enough I thought about changing it for a "on next basic attack" ability. But I think it still feel too similar to Volibear howl. I think something more interesting would be that it always apply a small fear 0.3 seconds and could apply terror (the one where they run directly away from you) if he is savage. Of course with a AoE fear, the damage should go and/or the attack speed buff for your team.

E: Now I believe E should stay as a toggle, but the idea of giving increase movement speed toward the prey is good. But I think he should have a smaller constant bonus and double toward the a prey. As much as I like the scent path, I think the vision if in range is pretty much vital for the ability to work as intended. Also I think he deserve a leap, but not here.

R: It's pretty good, not a lot as changed which is nice, the marking as prey regardless of health is very good. But it seems you removed the additional life-steal? An idea I had was he could heal of %total damage done during ultimate and not just gain more life steal. This would allow to heal from the damage done from the on-hit effect which I think would be quite unique and nice.

I like the whole Idea of becoming more ferocious the longer he stays in battle, but sustain is quite core-identity on warwick, so nerfing it as much as you do not only stop him from being a drain-tank but also from being a strong duelist and a super safe jungler. I don't see how shifting damage to physical reduce the drain-tank tendency, is it because armor is easier to get which would reduce his healing? But in my mind warwick should stay as a mixed damage dealer.

About the lore, I think the failed ascension is a good idea but I'm a fan of the whole cursed thing :/ (since originally he was cursed by soraka before the change)

Thanks man for your input :3

About his Q i made it Aoe because while Warwick doesn't die in the jungler, his clear time is kinda slow for a beast. And also when I though of him slashing a target, I didnt think of him carefully pinpointing a target, I thought of him sweeping his claws striking all in it's range.

For his R I actuall just forgot to put the life steal lol

And for his lore, RITO already had removed the Soraka cursing him point i think, I joined last yeas so dont really know. In his current lore she disfigured him.

And he still is a drain tank i just didnt wanna keep his sustain then just add a ton of buffs to his kit
