Banshee Veil's major rehaul o_o

Sooo this item has literally been turned into an item only a mage would want. I have some massively mixed feelings when I tended to buy it for the MR and Health to go with that Spell Shield. It was a great tank item!, and sometimes key to dealing with lock-down creeps. Idk, as a Gnar main this means I have to do a major amount of adapting on my core build, especially with a new item sucking out your damage for tank stats. Extremely mixed feelings for this update. Sure I can get Edge of Night, but me and item activation are not on good terms which is why I generally avoided it.

Tanks don't really need an extra foolproof defensive item like the BV. Its good it got reworked.

In Bronze sir... Foolproof is needed, lmao

Nah, even in bronze, a lategame tank is hard to punish. Even if you get CC-d it will last like 1 second at most ( 2 if Morgana Q hits you ) with all those extra tenacity you get from masteries and items.

It was a great tank item!

It really wasn't. When you're tanky blocking a single spell tends to be insignificant, just to explain how this works imagine two champs with 10 HP and a spell that deals 5 damage, champ A has no MR and champ B has 400, reducing the spell to 2 damage. When champ A buys BV he increases the number of spells he can take from 2 to 3, a 50% increase. When champ B does he increases the number of spells he can take from 5 to 6, only a 16.67% increase. BV has always been an odd item that tanks don't really want because the passive doesn't really fit them.

The new options you get are far better than BV ever was anyway. Adaptive Helm is just a bigger MR item with CDR on it, it's kinda the new "always good" item which used to be SV. If you're a magic damage dealer the new Abyssal Sceptre isn't even optional, it's just amazing. Gargoyle's good if you're a low damage tank, but I actually think it's a fairly meh item in most cases. Of course SV and Locket still exist too and are both still good.

I'm a Gnar main, initiating by jumping into the middle when I get Mega Gnar can be hit or miss if I'm just getting CC'ed to all hell instead of the other way around. Lol, Beonyd that Adapative Helm is NOT that good. It lowers the damage from repeat offender magic damage. Like Teemo's Poison, Kayle extra E damage, Azir's minions, and so forth. Situational if the magic damage is constant from the same ATTACK source. Doesn't do anything to a champ who pulls out a combo attack. Like the affect on Lux would be limited to her Passive pretty much. When they mean damage from the same source, they mean the literal source.

Do you need extra survivability against champs like Lux as a tank? Just a bit of MR and some HP does enough.

The reason why it's a good generic choice as well is because it hits at least something from almost every mages kit. It just hits all this random shit in the game that you wouldn't even think about, things like Sunfire, DFT, Elise's spiders and AAs, Nami's E and as you mentioned Lux's passive. You'll very rarely be in a game where these small effects don't add up. It may not always be godlike VS one champ but it's usually OK VS many.

It was actually a pretty decent rush item for Gnar using Fervor of Battle for damage. Its cheap cost allowed him to get that 70 mr and unto his next item quicker which'll probably be another health item anyways.

Wrong. BV was a great tank item not because it of the MR or The health, SV would do just fine if that was all you needed. BV was great for tanks when paired against CC heavy opponents. It allowed tanks and initiators to jump in without being immediately CCed and killed. It also allowed melee fighters a way to have counter play to things like Teemo's Blind, or tank supports to have counter play against pulls from Thresh, Blitz, Nautilus, or Leona's stun. It has now been made a mage item and tanks (which were supposed to have been improved this patch) are now left with no way to counter heavy CC champs.

Two bronzes trying to tell me why a shitty item was good... Have you considered this is part of the reason why you're bronze and I'm not?

Hope they make Zac sling shots immune to cc cause this was the item I used to initiate vs people who were spot on with their cc like viegers.
