Question about moving up 2 divisions!

So I reached plat this preseason. I checked my op.gg in excitement and realize it said I had an MMR of a plat 2 player. Now according to my friends, they have told me it isn't exactly accurate but they did say my MMR is close to plat 2, maybe plat 3. My question is, my MMR is 1,902 platinum 2 according to op.gg. It says I will move up 2 divisions. The whole 'division' thing is new to me so could someone explain what it means? http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=pizzapants

Divisions (5 through 1) are the things within tiers (bronze/silver/gold/plat/diamond/master/challenger). So the difference between plat 5 and plat 3 is 2 divisions for example.

I wouldn't put too much weight into op.gg and similar MMR estimates or where they expect you to end up. It's just saying that since it's estimate of your mmr is roughly 2 divisions higher than the expected mmr of your current division, you'll probably climb two divisions (probably one at a time, but if you end up with a 50% winrate at your current mmr, you'd settle 2 divisions up in theory).

In extreme cases if your MMR is way above what is expected, you can actually get promoted 2 divisions at once (so you finish your promos to plat 3 but actually go to plat 2 potentially), but that's not what op.gg is saying will happen.

The OP.gg mmr is inaccurate as it's not official. Your real mmr is only visible to Riot, but you can guess if you have good or bad mmr by your LP gains/losses.

On. op.gg, it would mean that you would climb up 2 divisions with a 50% winrate, but, as I said, it's inaccturate.
