Rek Sai's Ultimate/Tunneling Question

If Rek Sai's Ult is activated and the champ is headed towards a tunnel but that said tunnel is destroyed before Rek Sai arrives, shouldn't Rek Sai's Ultimate be canceled?

How does Rek Sai continue to a tunnel that no longer exists?

For example; In game I heard Rek's Ult scream, I immediately destroyed the tunnel near me but she flew across the map to a tunnel that didn't exist. everyone saw this. Something seems wrong about this.

Imagine it like this. You are on a road trip to a place. Said place is destroyed while you are on your journey there. You are still going to the same location but the structure is destroyed.

It has been stated that you can tunnel and ult to any tunnel on the map. Once the process has started it will complete. What do you suggest? Her to be stuck underground for the rest of the game?
