Illaoi is Broken.

Just played against top lane. Out-played her so much, I ended up 5/1 by 15 minutes.

Being so ahead of her, I still felt that was stronger than me.

She eventually got to a point where she was able to 1v3 - a double gank top lane by mid & jg.

Being 1/5/0 she 1v3'd us and eventually went on to get a penta later, 1v5.

was able to not only win fights against me in lane after being so behind.... but then scaled into a monster that was able to 1v5 un-official penta-kill.

I checked damage after game and she had 3x everybody's damage.. with 2nd top damage taken.

why is she this strong? Will she ever be nerfed?

If not, I'm probably going to main her now ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

She has a 51% winrate according to champion.gg. That hardly seems broken.

She has clear strengths and weakenesses. She's very easy to kite, she has difficulty getting into position to use her ult when Flash is on cooldown and she doesn't offer anything to the team in terms of utility except damage.

I play a lot of 3v3, where the mechanics are a bit different. There, Illaoi is a game breaker. If the enemy team has one, there is no point in playing. If your team has one, you don't have to play all too hard.

Now, some champs are a lot stronger in 3v3. Darius is a beast. Trynda will mess things up, no matter what you do to him. But Illaoi is thrice as bad as all the strong ones combined. You're lucky if you have someone who can even remotely lane against her. As soon as the team fights start, it's over. She can go half tanky. It doesn't even seem matter how she builds. Ult that teamfight location and everything is fine. If the enemy runs, they get ground down while they run. If they stay, the tentacles turn all of them to minced meat in seconds. 3v3 does not work in the presence of Illaoi. Please, god damn, fix that.

Illaoi has a very telegraphed kit. I lane against her a decent amount as a top main and I play a melee( Nasus ). I don't have too many issues with her.

Good Illaoi's will hit their skill shots and well time everything, but most can't hit everything and she burns her mana pretty fast if she keeps using her abilities.

I mean these are the tips I would never deviate from (EVER):

Never fight in her ult under any circumstances
Kill the tentacles as you can
Engage her when her ult is down (pay attention to cooldowns)

I have only played against one really really good illaoi in the last month (they were a plat player and an illaoi main) that I had trouble laning against.

Most of the time she is free stacks for me and pretty killable after her ultimate is used.

I mean if your team was fighting in her ultimate, then they are not gold caliber players at all. You never fight in her ultimate, ever.

Don't listen to the downvotes. I came here trying to find out why she is so broken. It's impossible to kill her and she can't lose lane.

That's because Illaoi's ult is designed in such a manor that a 1v1 is while ahead is better than a 3v1 while still ahead. Ganking Illaoi while her ult is up is almost as bad as ganking Heimerdinger.
