CertainlyT hidden quote
I rather make mistakes than make nothing at all
I rather make mistakes than make nothing at all
That's actually a really positive quote. It's nice to see people defending CertainlyT, instead of generic hatred.

I'm not defending him,but neither against him,it's just so obvious this quote is related to him
Wait when did CertainlyT learn from his mistakes? He continuously makes toxic kits which are/were op, I mean if he did learn then it would have been ok, but he's a prick who doesn't care about anything except his bullshit designs, which the morde rework proved.
When did Ekko say he learned from his mistakes either?
He repeats himself into the same scenario over and over again, trying to improve the result into perfection, or at least as close as possible. Even if he succeeds at defeating whoever it is, if he did too much damage, he'll go back and do it again. If that's not trying to learn from your mistakes I don't know what is.
you say that like CertainlyT is probably just sitting at his computer in an dark, damp dungeon crawling with the worst monsters to haunt Runeterra, laughing maniacally as he creates a Word document titled "My Evil Plan To Ruin the Next Champ". yes, he has a history of making mistakes, but i VERY seriously doubt he isn't trying to improve, otherwise i doubt he'd still have his job.
I was showing where Ekko was proving to learn from his mistakes. Apologies for the misunderstanding there.
Eh. Ekko and CertainlyT both try to improve from their mistakes, but CertainlyT just isn't as good as ekko at doing it.
More like CertanlyT would like the vocal minority not to be abusive, because he changed the meta
NO, because he tried to force an unneeded change to the meta.
Classic example, old Morde worked just fine bot lane with the right support. Now that's the only place he works unless you build a protect the carry team comp.
Two things then I will be happy this god forsaken season will be over:
I already stated that he changed the meta, so even though you said no you are still agreeing with me, pls don't just go picking fights CT hateboy.
More like CertanlyT would like the **vocal minority ** not to be abusive,
Good day to you sir, leave me alone
i don't get it, tresh is strong and fair, I don't find him any more broken than leo I don't see how Yasuo is considered broken still and say what you will I've lost more as Kalista then I've win. CertainlyT's kits usually require a fair amount of skill and so usually come out slightly strong sense everyone will be new to the champ. But really I'd say there's only a hand full of champs, if any, that aren't considered broken in some shape and form
You losing as Kalista means that YOU need to learn to play her better, she has a toxic bullshit kit, her passive alone is cringe worthy, I don't even need to say anything about the rest of her kit, and what if they require skill? That still doesn't excuse them being toxic kits which nobody likes to play against, literally every champ he made was bullshit at one point in the game or still is.
it kinda does seeing as thats the reason riot gave for postponing Shaco's rework for as long as they will/have. They stated that although his kit did require a rework since it was unfun/toxic to play against it only became apparent in high level or "Pro" shaco's, so they stated they felt comfortable leaving him to the back burner for now
Well let me put it this way, on an unfun/toxic scale of 1 to 10 shaco is a 6 or maybe a 7. while CertainlyT's champs are/were all at least a 9, I am playing this game since preseason 2 and I can say that I was never annoyed as much as with his champs except Riven. and I never seen so many people complaining about champs like his, let's be honest he just shoves free stuff on all of his champs, you can have fun playing them, well I also have fun playing champs which will make the enemy wish they are dead.
Hence why it's always an opinion. I too have been playing since S2, and I haven't had any special problems with any of his champions more than others. Hell, if to you his champions are a '9', then to me champions like pre-rework Fiora, Tryndamere, and Caitlyn are an 11. I'd much rather than interesting and slightly broken champions, than champions that have literally binary playstyles.
Pre-rework fiora I can understand but Caitlyn? Considering her an 11 in comparison to Yasuo, Darius, Thresh? Sorry to say but that is plain bullshit favoritism towards CertainlyT for some reason. Thresh I believe received the most nerfs of any champ and look at him, still is one of the most picked suppors in worlds and overall. Why? Well probably because CertainlyT just put every damn thing he can think of in his kit, even if he did 10 damage I think he would have been picked because of too much stuff in his kit.
Caitlyn is, to me, one of the most boring champions EVER. She doesn't have decisions. She doesn't have options. If she can Q, she will. If she has mana to spare, she'll drop traps. If she's in danger, she'll E. If an enemy is low, she'll ult. Her playstyle is absolutely boring. It is the definition of simple and bland. THAT, to me, is what I consider bad. Hell, atleast with CT's champions, because they have so much playmaking potential, they're also open to being outplayed themselves. Theres NOTHING like that for Caitlyn. Either you kill her first, or she right clicks you to death.
OH I see, Toxic and unfun is the term used for champs which make your enemy lose any will to live with their mobility, damage or some new mechanic, sry for the confusion, I thought everyone knows that already. Yes she is a boring champ but that is not what I am discussion for, also that right clicks you to death is a bad example, any adc must do that even if they have burst, some more, some less of course.
See, thats where the difference of opinion comes in. I don't consider mobility or new mechanics to be a problem. Fiora got both, and she's considered pretty fine. 'Toxic' is as relative as 'good' or 'bad'. Toxic to you seems to be related to mobility and damage, whereas to me it means something binary and/or uninteractive. CT's certainly made some problem children. But they're far from the only ones in the game.
Also, not every ADC relies on their right clicks. Far from it. Lucian and Graves rely on their burst, Ez relies on his poke, Sivir has her AOE, Draven his axe juggling, etc, etc. Caitlyn is THE only adc whose entire being is essentially dedicated to right clicking her way to victory.
On the adc issues can you please read what I wrote? EVERY adc needs his autos some more, some less, I don't like repeating my self to people who can't read properly. It's not a matter of opinion, it has been considered since ever that toxic means something that makes the game unbearable for the opponent or in recent cases ally(tahm kench, bard etc), CertainlyT didn't have some, he had all his champs be problem childs, every single one of them were/are utterly broken, and for your information fiora is OP as shit, watching worlds should have openend your eyes to that subject.

Then go back and read mine. Yes, every ADC needs autos. But Caitlyn is the only one who has nothing else, who sits there and AAs no matter what. The next closest is Draven, and he has his axe juggling minigame to keep things interesting.
It's not a matter of opinion, it has been considered since ever that toxic means something that makes the game unbearable for the opponent or in recent cases ally(tahm kench, bard etc),
Can you show me where this was clarified? And I mean EXACTLY where this became the definition of toxic? Because otherwise, it is just an opinion. Even if shared by multiple people, that doesn't turn an opinion into fact. A prime example is Yorick. He's certainly toxic. But certainly not because he makes the opponents life hell, and he can. It's because his playstyle goes from "Absolute domination in lane" ->"Falls off harder than a Malphite dropped off a cliff." He's toxic not to the opponent, but himself.
and for your information fiora is OP as shit, watching worlds should have openend your eyes to that subject.
I must confess, I don't watch worlds that much. Only a few interesting games here and there. Still, as has been said countless times before, pro league and solo que are COMPLETELY different games. It's one thing to work with a team that you've practiced with and are in constant communication with, and another to work with a bunch of complete strangers. Fiora isn't even a huge threat in solo que because she requires coordination with her team now.
Nah, they just want the badass reaper with a chain and sickle plus the lantern to be a fighter that deals dmg.
Dude. Do you seriously think that CertainlyT is the end-all, be-all of champ design? Do you think he doesn't consult with other anyone else in the several MONTHS it takes to develop a champion? Do you think he's the boss of Riot who can push through anything he finds neat?
Your hatred is misguided and extremely naive.
Let me just mention a guy who actually proves that CertainlyT can do whatever the fuck he wants. The name of the guy has something to do with metal and death, oh also with enslaving dragons.
Please, show me any bit of legitimate evidence that proves CT is the one and only person who has 1) worked on Morde for the last few months, and 2) finalized the decision to release him onto Live.
Where in that thread did he say that literally no other designers touched Morde? I'm not going to do your searching for you.
He may have been the lead designer, sure. But, again, please tell me where it has been said that nobody else double-checked CertainlyT's designs or numbers or gave any sort of constructive feedback. That he literally designed and coded the new Morde himself and clicked the Submit To All Live Servers button.
You won't be able to, because that's not how design processes work.

Here's the link, don't know why it show in my earlier reply, also I never said he's the only designer, he's the lead one, he makes all the decisions final, if he doesn't like it he will scrap it, which is apparent by mordekaiser, dunno why you still trying to defend him, at least here it's 100% that he fucked up with him.

Typically when you make mistakes you try to fix them. The problem is that never really happens.
That...is incredibly hypocritical of Ekko.
How so? o.O
...Time travel. Duh.
But making mistakes is a huge part about time travel.
Well, at least you're probably going to make a lot of mistakes until you find the perfect timeline.
Not that anybody would know, of course. :3
He's a perfectionist. His video made a point to hammer that he'll do things as perfectly as possible.
I don't think Ekko operates on timelines. He just reverses the one we have.

If butterfly effect exists in runeterra he'd known that learning from the mistake and simply move on is the best course of action, and trying to change what had already happened would only go for the worst.
Er, I don't think he rewinds time long enough to notice the butterfly effect, or at least not in large way.
But the sentiment is the same. Reminds me of the comic, where he finally decided to spend time with his dying friend instead of seeking revenge once his machine broke (temporarily).
Make mistakes and "learn from them"
Rather than make mistakes and ignore everyone only saying how right you are and how wrong everyone else is.
You can learn more from a loss than from a victory.
If you get home and buy yourself a trophy preaching to everyone how it wasnt a loss because you know best... well... you're just a deluded loser.

Actually in league it's 50-50,you can learn the same amout from victory and lose
Actually in league it's 50-50,you can learn the same amout from victory and lose
People tend to learn more from losing.
Because if one wins, they are more likely to simply move on into next match. If they lose, they'd either stay to complain or review their mistakes, hence more likely to learn things that way.
Eh, I'd say that depends. For example, most of the time when I win, I always see WHY the enemy team lost. Did they not group enough? Did they not scale well into the late game? Were they just dicking around? Was it one of those games they're just destined to lose? It's always good to consider from both perspectives, 'Why did I lose?' and 'Why did I win?'
As a Morde main I can say I don't hate the guy. His public relations definitely needs work though.
Here is what people need to understand
Failed kit: a kit that does the same thing in every single situation due to a lack of option or skill requirement
Successful kit: a kit with many options in different situations and the success of each option is dependent on your skill and knowledge on that champion
Vi/annie/pantheon are failed kits due to their lack of skill requirement or thinking while kits like yasuo/thresh/zed/ezreal etc all have more options and skill requirement thus making them more successful.
CertainlyT is a great designer and these people with low game knowledge on how kit works seriously need to hop off his back.
Pretty much. Some people can't comprehend choices, and they can't deal with opponents who have options. And their response to being unable to understand CertainlyT's explanations is to pretend he hasn't offered any and accuse him of being so arrogant that doing so is beneath him. They accuse him of acting like he's smarter than everyone, but he doesn't. He just happens to actually BE smarter than those people, and they resent it. He doesn't have a big ego. He's just good at his job.
Your username seems oddly appropriate for this thread. Also, good quote. CertainlyT is a visionary, and while he may screw up a lot, you have to give him credit where credit is due, he has some really fantastic ideas mixed into the champs he makes.
CertainlyT didn't make as big of a mistake as people say. The idea of a more diverse bot lane is a great one, but the way it was implemented shows the mistakes. They reworked a champion to work botlane, while unintentionally making that champion out-perform too many of the other champions of the same role. Which is why Mordekaiser seems so overpowered, but really, there isn't a champion that specifically counters him.
I agree that the rework is not as bad as many people say. I think the main issues are:
that they decided to turn an old champ into this, instead of creating a new juggernaut bot lane champ. A substantial part of the complainers are Morde mains who are angry because their main got reworked in such a great scale. And I understand: I wouldn't be happy either if my main would suddenly get a completely different identity. The same thing kinda happened with Sion: people complained not because the rework was done very badly, but because the old champ, which also had its playerbase, was completely removed.
that they have artificially put him into the ADC role by creating "duo lane only" restrictions/advantages on him, which is a huge part of his power budget, instead of creating a kit which automatically fits in bot lane best, but is not specifically restricted to bot lane. By removing those restrictions and/or moving a part of the power put into it he would be more of a flex pick, which would also help in somewhat retaining his old identity while not necessarily preventing the idea of a bit more role diversity, which is definitely a good idea.
1 thing hovers over my mind; I wonder if CertainlyT even reads the posts of G&B,but just ignore them? Or perhaps he doesn't even bother to read...
